My wife insists on watching the opening ceremonies. It is so stupid these people strolling into the stadium with their silly masks on…no one is recognizable, and they are waving and blowing kisses to a nonexistent crowd. I’ve not witnessed anything more bizarre

They were waving to a crowd that wasn't there? They didn't even allow some people for opening ceremonies? Wasn't it held outside ?

This is gonna be one really strange Olympics. I'm gonna try my darnest not to give NBC any ratings on these Olympics, would be nice if they were the least watched Olympics of all time, or of at least the modern area, say from 1988 Calgary games till now.

I would have probably watched the Hockey if NHL players were competing but since it's mostly no names playing I have no interest at all.

Cheers to this being a total bomb for NBC in the ratings category

Here's how you make waves that NBC and the Olympic Sponsors care about. A letter I just now sent to TOYOTA, via their website's "contact us" page.

"Disappointed that Toyota is helping to sponsor the Winter Olympics in China, a country that is largely responsible for the 5.7 million deaths that have occurred all over the world, due to Covid-19.

Our family is due for a new vehicle, but will now look at Honda next week, instead of Toyota. Going to miss you, but integrity is loftier than brand loyalty.

-Ceasar in Chicago"

I'm going to send 2 per day, substituting the name of the product, where applicable. And also a letter to NBC, letting them know that I will be boycotting products advertising on their Olympic broadcasts...along with sending an occasional letter to those advertisers. (Have done this with/to CNN for years.)

BTW...Here's a list of Beijing Olympic Sponsors: apnews.com...

Or you’re deflecting?
I’m pretty certain you’ve spent some time minimizing the Covid issue. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I refuse to support it in anyway...period. Hope they have fun bit to me its not worth supporting pure evil.

Edit: also kimda disgusted any of these athletes agreed to participate in the first place. I can't say I would go regardless of the career sacrifice it meant.

Many in the government, media, and private sector are compromised by China. We are in Cold War II, but this time with China not the USSR.

I find it extremely telling that many politicians and media are constantly directing us to Russia, as if this is 1963, while ignoring China and even attacking those of us expressing concern about China..

It seems almost as if they aren't working for our side anymore.. In the case of corporations, one can at least understand the conflict of interest they have regarding their business in and with China, including cheap labor. But, a conflict of interest it still is.

I remember how angry Obama, Bush and some others got, when President Trump hit China with sanctions.

The same people who now want the USA to slam Russia with sanctions.

Idiots!

They're neighbors, which is why Putin is silent.

Its always the quiet ones you have to watch. Xi might get a case of polonium one day soon.

The "Covid issue" is transitioning to a "vaccine issue" for most, whether they know it or not.

If you complain about the Quarantine Hotel in Beijing, the conditions get worse.

Winter Olympic athletes have put China’s coronavirus quarantine hotels on blast over a lack of edible food and training equipment while they wait to test out of isolation.

Russian biathlon competitor Valeria Vasnetsova and Belgian Kim Meylemans were among those who called out the conditions of their isolation at the Beijing Olympics.
They are in tears. Where's V. Putin?: www.foxnews.com...

I've also heard athletes have been advised to bring "burner phones" to the games, as they will undoubtedly have their phone conversations monitored, and potentially have malware installed on phones.

It makes 0 sense how this country was awarded the games to begin with.

I support our athletes, and I know they work sometimes their entire young adulthood for a few days worth of competitions, so it's hard to expect them to boycott this and lose out on their chance to compete.

I personally won't be watching a single second of it.

So what happens when China doesn't win any of the games ?

The answer is somewhere in here: en.wikipedia.org...

Connections to the same web that keeps countries from complaining too loudly about the millions of global Covid-19 deaths.

ATS member "Xuenchen" will be able to provide insight on that slim possibility.

Section 11 of that article, "Controversies", gives a good primer on the corruption and fraud associated with the IOC.

Maybe it's time to retire the Olympics, as sad as that sounds. What was once a benevolent idea of international cooperation, sportsmanship and friendly competition has devolved into a money making scheme by all parties, the IOC as well as suitors to host the games. I think a good number of the events, even from the winter games, now have viable leagues/organizations where athletes can compete outside the games, gain recognition and make some money if they are good enough.

Nancy is just repeating what her puppet masters in China want her to say. No way I will be watching any Olympics. Unless it has this in it.

I have been battling Covid and pneumonia for 2 weeks.

I wouldn't call it just a flu/cold.

I remain non vaccinated.

The "woke athletes" idiots from the US are now having a very juicy taste of what a communist country feels like and look like

I am sure they are having a great time.

Bend over please China likes to take the swap up your butt hole.
