For those who say VP Mike Pence COULD NOT HAVE declined to accept, or delayed accepting, each state's slate of Electors and their Votes on January 6, 2021...HE INDEED COULD HAVE.

Where in the constitution is the VP authorized to decline or delay the electoral process?

The attorneys on the Senate payroll must have found the authorization somewhere, or they wouldn't be crafting a bill to turn that authorization off. No?

There wouldn't need to be a law against this if there was a clear directive against it.

Amazing how tiny some of these minds in the MSM are. They keep whining that Pence couldn't do it. Dumbasses. At least Senators and their staff know the truth.

Inventing a half assed excuse to look productive while actually doing nothing. Sure sounds like federal government.

Or maybe you're right and there's something in the constitution that allows republicans or democrats to filibuster their way through 6 months of each presidential term and take turns holding our nation hostage in a state of executive limbo until new legislation is passed - oh look at that, they anticipated some childish blowhard nonsense like what I just described.

Flip a coin.

Will this Pence announcement help or hurt the GOP come November. Corporate bigdogs are pulling their support.

If the U.S. Constitution were written by today's lawyers, drawing upon over 2 centuries of lawyers finding ways to get things done, with no punishment of their bosses, the Constitution would be how many thousands of pages, in your estimation?

What Pence announcement? There's been a lot of discussion about him in the news media over the past week, for some reason. I've ignored most of it, considering he's yesterday's news...and a proven traitor to Trump.

Was he a traitor to Trump or the people?
What actual proof do you have of him not doing his job and representing the people?
The answer should be alot.
Like him or hate him he did his job.
In no way is he a traitor.

Pence not only had the right he had the obligation.

He is a traitor

All a committee of 6 Republican Senators (led by Ted Cruz) was asking of Pence was to DELAY certifying the election for Biden until January 20th. By then, a massive investigation would have determined if Biden won legitimately, or by crooked means.

Pence SAID he was willing to go along with it, until changing his mind the morning of January 6th, the way you'd expect a spineless traitor to do: www.cnbc.com...

You have really crappy reading comprehension.

Pence did not say that he was willing to go along with delaying the counting of the votes. From the reference you cited he (or his spokesman, actually) said: “The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th,”

That process is spelled out in the Constitution and doesn’t constitute delay of the counting. It’s part of the counting. In fact, that’s exactly what the joint session was doing when the rioters entered the Capitol and disrupted the process. It’s also what the joint session completed doing after they reconvened. What Trump wanted was to stop that process in its tracks because he knew that there weren’t enough votes in the joint session to sustain any of the objections because nobody had any evidence. Which is exactly what happened; the objections were raised by people like Cruz and voted down, one by one.

There’s no place in the Constitution where it says that the Vice President can kick the can down the road because he thinks maybe, possibly, there might be something discovered in the next 10 days that could change everything.

(Spoiler alert: there was nothing discovered in the next year that changed everything.)

Pence is smart. Mincing words... "I had no right to overturn the election".

He had the AUTHORITY to do a lot of things, including delaying the certification, which is what he was asked to do.

What he said today, he's said before. Those in the media who are amazed, have short attention spans.

So you're saying that Democrats in the Senate are proving how dumb they are, for crafting a law to prevent something that wasn't lawful to begin with?

If that's the case, I 100% agree.

Donald Trump said this last Sunday.

"If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had 'absolutely no right' to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election?" Trump wrote. "Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and they now want to take that right away. Unfortunately, he didn't exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!"

Those in the media who are amazed, have short attention spans.

And some ATS members too, it seems.

I wonder if that will work for the GOP come November. Will trumps blessings on his chosen candidates help them. Corps are a bit reluctant to fund the far right. Perhaps the grass roots can grow....

Grass roots will grow and existing grass will die, as additional evidence of election "irregularities" in key states continues to surface.

The Democrats also lowered their own prestige to crap-level, by installing a demented old perverted corrupted white male in the White House.

There are enough "fighter" Republicans being re-elected, or seeking election for the first time, to ensure Joe Biden is impeached, Pelosi's communications with Capitol Police are released, and "orders" regarding 2020 Election Fraud Coordination, are brought to light.

It won't be hard to take out the trash, if force is needed. Remember, 750 people coming into the Capitol building, as the police held the doors open, was a "massive insurrection" to wimp Democrats, and a few RINOS.

Don't you find it rather sad that a campaign would hinge so much on the donations of large corporations rather than the actual platform and candidate's ability. Doesn't seem like that would be good for the average joe citizen...

So if you believe that it was an insurrection: Does that mean Pence was a major contributing cause by failing to exercise the powers that the Dems are now trying to remove from a future VP?
