Last year churches accross Canada burned. It was all sparked by a single young woke anthropologist who "discovered" a mass grave using ground penetrating radar. Turns out she was full of #. She found tree roots. Of course the media ran with the story and physical destruction of property took place. Real violence. Not to mention driving a massive wedge into the social fabric of Canada. Of course JUSTIN Trudeau had to chime in with his 2 cents of wisdom. The media needs to face criminal charges. Their negligence has resulted in both physical destruction of property and the far more costly tearing of the social fabric.www.dorchesterreview.ca...

I was wondering what was going on with this.

I haven’t heard anything since the initial out cry.

There ate still plenty f orange shirts hanging in peoples windows in my town.
But we haven’t heard what was going to happen since they were discovered.

Well, then Fox is on the hook for lots of deaths. Misinformation that kills.

You think Fox news is the conservative bastion of news on ATS? You haven't been paying attention.

If you are stupid enough to just listen and accept things as fact without further investigation and do the crime, that's your fault.

That's truly rich coming from you.

Any and all of these entertainment/propaganda outlets should be held accountable if their lies cost lives. Freedom of speech is not the freedom to yell fire in a crowded theater as the old saying goes.

Are people such mindless sheep that they can't be held accountable for their own actions?

Must we find blame in the liar or do we look at those who would easily believe the lie?

Fair point. Individuals should be held responsible as well. This was widely reported as fact - I believed it to be true myself. I was suspicious about the cause of death more likely being disease. I understood that 215 bodies had been found in a mass grave.

Of course people are responsible for their own actions, but those spreading lies which lead to such actions must be held accountable too.

Certainly they have no business calling themselves news outlets and publishing lies on mass.

How can any of us know what to believe if all we have is disinformation to untangle?

Have you ever sat down and spoke with people who attended residential school? I have. And the stories I heard first hand are far worse than you thinking unmarked Graves are a conspiracy because they aren't digging up the dead.

My grandmother told us before she died that she was forced to put not one, but two of her newborn children into the boiler. The nun who held her down while the priest raped her was there as a witness. At 14 and 15 she was raped and impregnated.

I have sat in a circle with many others from BC who told more horrific atrocities then that. Ignorance is bliss to many in this once fine country of ours. Reconciliation isn't about blame. People need to be educated and understand what the true history is behind the catholic church and native Americans.

Perhaps this particular person did make a mountain out of a molehill in some twisted way, and shame on them for it. But it does not deserve you discrediting tens of thousands of potential victims and their families simply because nobody is actively digging them up.

Let me see if I understood it right.

Last year it was reported that more than 200 bodies were found, when in fact it was only an interpretation of the readings of the ground-penetrating radar.

Now someone is saying that "Not One Body Has Been Found", when in fact the place wasn't dig.

Are we witnessing a case of an exaggerated title on an article against an exaggerated news?

I think youre missing the proverbial forest for the trees here. What you are failing to understand is a lie is damaging no matter the heartstrings inspiration. At this site that was scanned, are there indeed bones in need of proper burial, or is it nothing but roots under there, as claimed in the OP?

If the answer is no,, it's tree roots indeed, then naturally, I'd like to know why you are unwilling to be excoriating when faced with a potential deliberate lie sold as fact. I know I'd be setting ears ablaze if it were me. A lie to gain pity & attention is pretty underhanded & shameful, it ruins credibility.

No doubt there was real abuse and real hurt.

I grew up on the prairies and my native friends were treated like garbage - from their own parents.
One friend had cigarette burns all up his arms. His dad used him as a human ash tray. Another was intentionally made sick by his mom so she could get a ride into town on an ambulance. She forced him to eat cigarette butts. Another friend had to drop out of school at 13 when her dad made her pregnant.

This story, without a proper follow up only discredits those who were legitimately abused. What are people going to think when the next story comes out? In my mind it would be similar to that woman who pretended to be a holocaust survivor only to be exposed as a fraud.

This only served to create more damage and more division while undermining those who really suffered.

Yeah, I could be promoting a false headline. Maybe there are some bodies there.

Let's find out before we start burning churches.
