I’ve gained a lot more appreciation for common insects, after I took up a little macro photography.
This one looks like it’s made out of metal.

Love the picture of the fly , both metallic and iridescent , the world of the small is indeed a detailed and colourful place.

Btw, the leaf hopper does indeed look interesting, but to me it looks more like it's trying to mimic bird poop as a camouflage tactic with that front half.

1st the fisherman's hook and now the cash crops must be saved? This poor species may not last long after formal discovery by "civilization". I laughed hard at both of you, but we can all agree nature us cool can't we? I don't believe in teaching kids trees need a hug but I do believe in conserving as best we can within reason.

Off topic. I was being facetious with the cash crops comment. You should see the amount of pesticides sprayed on corn, soybeans, cotton, etc.
