I saw a post somewhere showing the underside rusting and almost broken over a year ago. Might have been on Twitter.

That would make sense..
For the longest time, the Glenfield bridge here had another bridge structure built under it.

Chunks of the bridge were falling off into traffic. Fixed now, but what a mess.

Edit:
Oddly enough, you have to use the Glenfield bridge to get to Frick Park that goes to the Collapsed bridge.

A bridge in the Frick Park area of Forbes ave in Pittsburgh has completely collapsed and the smell of natural gas is in the air.

Happened just earlier this morning.

Good news is... it's only closed till 1:30pm

Also thankfully by coincidence Biden will be here in a very few short hours to talk about revitalizing green manufacturing and some talks of Infrastructure funding....

Because Biden's version of "infrastructure", ex: daycare and racial justice, will help rebuild this bridge ?

Battalions of toddlers will rebuild the bridge while being shouted out with CRT, am I right ?

When I read natural gas, I thought sewer for some reason, but I know that's a different natural.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Shouldn't Mayor Pete be there to talk about filling potholes?

Everybody suppose to be here today. Most flew in last night. Now this bridge is to far.

Gas is off. Look at Lt. Gov. Fetterman.
youtu.be...

Inspectors say the amount of vehicles are way under weight requirements for the bridge. They state the bridge was sound.

Edit: news is reporting the bridge was in poor condition along with many others.😆

Did the escaped Monkeys have anything to do with this you think? They were being injected with experimental crap, like gullible humans are allowing themselves to be.

Obviously something went wrong. What is more likely - that the landscape itself suddenly or that someone dropped the ball? I am betting this has a human element.

Star! You are correct.
No human involved, aka no human involved themselves enough to maintain this deteriorating bridge.

Think about it from a politician stand point:

What's sexier? The brand new bridge you can put your name on or maintaining that old bridge with someone else's name. So where do the funds go?

Serious question:
Was this bridge on a list to be replaced or repaired?

Then:
Was it waiting for federal money for it to be replaced?

If it wasn't, I'm guessing the Biden Administration will say that it was.

Funny you mention that, Pittsburgh has had some scandals with politicians and misappropriated funds. Many have wound up in jail. Heck, even Dr. Cyril Wecht got in trouble.

Damn good question, I do not know the answer to that. Many bridges have been looked into for upgrades for years. Only some of the big ones are being repaired now.

Find me a city that doesn't have those issues whether people go to jail over it or not.

Twanda Carlisle comes to mind. That was the City Councilwoman who complained that 85% of the people arrested in her District were Black. When it was pointed out to her that 90% of the people in her District WERE Black, she said "I don't care arrest more White people." Then she got caught funneling money to her relatives for false studies that were never done.
