The worst thing is if you got the tax credit in the months is that if your capital gains are too high, you can lose the credit and you could owe taxes. Winnings from gambling or selling stocks can cause that. It would suck to owe a lot of money at tax time because you made three grand on stock you sold.

So what happens when those things dry up, or in this case when that refund people were counting on is already gone?

First off, welcome back, we missed you!!

I think when things dry up what happens is what always happens, people find a way. Unfortunately what is already is happening is crime. I’ve always thought it interesting that people would put sooo much effort into crime instead of just work. People think crime is easy, but I think that is flawed thinking.

How long on average before the IRS actively prosecutes for tax evasion if one is lower middle class?

Is there such a thing as being a conscientious objector against Federal taxation?

May one declare themselves a church and all related private transactions as church related without the private army and blackmail operations of Scientology?

Is it true that one may declare their epidermis as sovereign territory... and any resultant flaking or droppings as new colonies?

Asking for a friend.

#taxstrike2021

Seriously, F*ck You to the IRS, and F*ck You to the US Government for doing lame things with our tax dollars, things nobody would ever agree to do if they knew it was happening.
I hope thousands upon thousands of people skip their taxes this year. I mean, it is basically EXTORTION.

We just did our taxes today. The only thing that was new was the selfie thing. Our refund was almost 3k higher than what we expected despite the child tax payments we received. Less than 1k difference than last years refund.

It's optional, you don't need to do it for filing your taxes.

Let me see...

Government™ doles-out more ' Free-Money™ ' than ever ;
Record numbers of new billionaires ;
Bezos, Musk, Gates, increase their wealth by mega-billions ;
Profit records for Big-Pharma™ and Banks™ ;
Folks are poorer, and worse-off financially ;

Nope : probably totally all unrelated...
Prolly just a few totally unconnectable dots ...

Nothin to see here...

Just move-along to your next shopping experience, please...

Oh look ! A brand new shiny Idiot-Phone™ !!

No, you'll need one for that unless it's a third party doing them for you.

Correct, since they'd be the one submitting the photo.

It's all part of the future mDL/EID roll out. DHS (TSA), Clear and various state governments are in the process of implementing the new scheme.

Yes, we filed using H&R Block's online tool this year. Would not let us complete it without a picture of my photo ID and a selfie. a reply to: DontTreadOnMe

It's not required:

"The IRS emphasizes taxpayers can pay or file their taxes without submitting a selfie or other information to a third-party identity verification company. Tax payments can be made from a bank account, by credit card or by other means without the use of facial recognition technology or registering for an account."
