Not quite time for the royal flush yet, but it appears he's playing his first major card before the elections. This is a cue to his fanbase that the republican party is being replaced by his hand selected acolytes, hence the endorsements. Apparently he's trying to be the Andrew Jackson of the modern republican platform.

That equates to two advisors giving conflicting protocols when it mattered most.

Why call for ventilators after advice on HCQ? Ending who funding prolly based on HCQ knowledge?
Given what we now know, only one advisor was concerned about the health of the population.

For all intents and purposes, Anthony Fauci (and to a lesser extent, Deborah Birx) were controlling everything at the Federal Level, regarding Covid-19. Fauci squashed HCQ as a Covid treatment, and told the FDA commissioner to do the same...which he did.

Yeah, no. President Trump made a strong display of the results he could achieve when he applied himself, so the areas that didn't get the attention they needed are now obvious in hindsight. Otherwise he would still be in office and it would be Fauci getting crucified in the media.

I doubt it. Trump didn't learn from his mistakes. He never admitted to having any foresight about Wuhan, he never admitted to seeing the archived documents that Obama would have left behind as part of the necessary required reading, he'll never admit to dismissing several publicly released articles describing the activities and dangers of the virology program (or his advisors were too caught up in hero worship to give him relevant materials of national and global security) and he will never apologize for not taking that situation more seriously. All of which makes him equally accountable for the terribly unjust reputation he now enjoys. And yes he does enjoy the attention he now receives as the cliche underdog of a system he had previously benefitted from thanks to his nepotism, but suddenly he's a victim because he lost for the very first time in his career and he's not accustomed. But as any script writer can tell you, no one loves a prophecied savior more than when they come swinging back after a humbling defeat. As Stan Lee would have said: "Classic!"

The word you're looking for is "campaigning." Seems pretty standard for all candidates these days, regardless of party affiliation.

He's not a repeat savior of anything. As far as I'm concerned, he started the dumpster fire Biden inherited. He was in a position to expose Wuhan and NIAID and Fauci years before Biden even announced his campaign and did jack to avert the present day crisis. Someone made a post recently about a volunteer fireman who was committing arson so he appeared to be a hero to his peers and neighbors. Trump isn't far off from that evaluation, in my humble opinion. I wouldn't go so far as to call him a criminal but negligent and self absorbed, 100%

But the problem with that crusade (aside from exposing national security details that our beloved and unassailable government contractors would literally kill to keep secret) is once the American public realizes how badly pretty much the entire partisan spectrum screwed up, who do we turn to for healing and leadership?

But nobody actually cares if there was ample warning and opportunity to put resources in action and educate the world about the dangers of gain of function research. Nobody cares that we were looking a bioweapon in the face and just happily shipped it to China so it's not our problem anymore. Nobody cares that Wuhan was actively arming this pandemic for 2.5 years after Trump swore his oath and ignored the boys in the lab doing God's work even while Fauci smiled and shook his hand. A forgivable error in judgment, an easy mistake to make. His first time as president. Don't be too hard on him. He'll improve and then we'll see how badly America needs a man like him.
