Appeal to authority is a common type of fallacy, or an argument based on unsound logic. When writers or speakers use appeal to authority, they are claiming that something must be true because it is believed by someone who said to be an "authority" on the subject.

Cigarettes and your Doctor

This was not some flash in the pan, these commercials ran for two decades. The rest is history.

The thalidomide catastrophe

Created by the Grunenthal group in Germany, thalidomide was heavily marketed to pregnant women for morning sickness in the 50s and 60s.

It was available in 46 countries before it was banned in 1961 due to a massive spike in birth deformities worldwide.

At least 80,000 babies died before birth and 20,000 were born without limbs due to thalidomide. The consumption of thalidomide by pregnant women resulted in a wide range of birth defects including severe deformity of the limbs or in extreme cases, the absence of limbs.

Reports suggest the companies which distributed and produced the drug in various countries were aware of the side effects that maimed thousands of babies in the womb worldwide, but ignored them for the sake of profit.

The Grunenthal group issued an apology in 2012 part of it read, "We ask that you regard our long silence as a sign of the silent shock that your fate has caused us." Victims felt insulted, they said the apology was insincere.

The Vioxx Scandal

Vioxx was a painkiller approved for use by the FDA in 1999. It led to the death of 60,000 people in the US.

The Archives of Internal Medicine reveals American pharmaceutical company Merck concealed data for years that proved Vioxx caused an alarming increase in the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Merck's revenue from Vioxx was 2.5 billion dollars.

The drug was taken off the market in 2004.

The government and big pharma do not care about killing you while they make profits from selling harmful products to you

An FDA scientist raised concern early on when he discovered the damaging effects of vioxx, however, his discovery was suppressed by his bosses. US government officials have questioned the relationship between Merck and the FDA.

David Graham who works in the FDA's Office of Drug Safety told Forbes Magazine, "If the judgement is that there's blood on Merck's hands," Graham added, "There's blood on the FDA's hands as well."

He drew comparisons between the fatalities caused by Vioxx and the number of those who died in the Vietnam War, which also totalled 60,000. He lamented the institutional bias at the FDA that led to those deaths.

And finally, there was this suggestion from the helpful:

"People should turn to Congress and demand a drug safety system that is free from corporate influence – and a distinct center for drug safety."

Conclusion: congress does not represent YOUR interests

The Manufactured ChineseNIH virus

Since the release of the manufactured virus in 2019, one man has been the face of the flip flop worldwide.

We know through his emails that he stifled any opposition that might threaten the bottom line of stakeholders in various pharmaceutical companies.

The Great Barrington Declaration was one such movement.

As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

It has just under a million signatories from countless countries.

The Great Barrington Declaration

Meanwhile, the taxpayers funded the research to the drugs that they are now paying for and has proven to be unsafe.

Governments are enforcing vaccine mandates, running defense for the big pharma companies as they rake in billions of dollars.

Why are people so beholden to authority that has proven itself to be unworthy of their trust.

At the very least judging by history the normal response to this pandemic and how it is being managed should raise the suspicions of any normal, sane thinking person.

For now, vaccine producing companies enjoy their government sanctioned liability free experimentation on unsuspecting and coerced people all over the world, with critical information being sealed for the next 5 decades.

Don't forget Bayer selling HIV infected blood-clothing agents.
www.theguardian.com...

A division of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer knowingly sold blood-clotting agents infected with HIV to Asia and Latin America months after withdrawing them from Europe and the US, an American newspaper claimed yesterday.

You are right! All this appeal to authority is getting ridiculous. We cannot trust these supposed authorities like Dr. Robert Malone, Peter McCullough….

With regards to capitalist activities, it’s usually not very profitable if your product kills your customer….too fast anyways. There is interesting documentaries on the sugar industry. Obesity is a significant contributor to premature death, how can the sugar lobbyists be allowed to push this dangerous product on the people? This is okay, but not medicine?

It all boils down to who one trusts as an "authority", doesn't it?

Whether that authority is a government agency/official, or an expert found on a website or YouTube channel.

We tend to believe and trust those who reflect our own particular world-views, and distrust those who do not.

More of a counter spell. Incredibly effective on low level adversaries.

Ironic, I was agreeing with your appeal to authority point.

It's much more than that.

It's about looking at all angles and reacting appropriately when you see that this is not only not about the welfare of people but also to their detriment wrt governmental power grabs, vaccine injuries, zero-liability, sealed records, crashing economies to usher in a new era of authoritarianism and compliance, total monopolizing of world resources by companies such as Blackrock and Vanguard.

It's about realizing that we are now being ruled by corporate decrees masquerading behind bought and paid for politicians.

Perhaps the whole Epstein affair was purposely manipulated into public view for all those powerful people on the flight logs to fall in line otherwise their videos would be released and prosecution would follow.

It was never revisited for any real justice, it was a tool used for total control and it worked. Bill Gates being one prime example.

You know, we all know you are worried and desperate for the mainstream narrative to be true, (have you always believed the MSM narrative btw? or just this pandemic narrative?)

Anyway it's not too late for you to say you've changed your mind and participate in this experiment no further.
I'm sure you'd get more support than blowback from the people on here if you did.

Every day that goes by makes your loyalty to the narrative look more and more ridiculous.

Get off the bus and join the critical thinkers, we know you're not stupid, just understandably scared. 👍🏼

Wouldn’t the subject of appeal to authority also apply to the anti vaccine “experts”? Why wouldn’t it be equally valid to point out that people appeal to Dr. Malone as a vaccine authority?

And, if you have an issue with pharma pushing dangerous product, would you agree that the sugar industry is doing the same and would you be equally enraged?

We tend to believe and trust those who reflect our own particular world-views, and distrust those who do not.

As predicted and described at 2 Timothy 4:3,4:

“For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome* [Or “healthful; beneficial.”] teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.* [Or “to tell them what they want to hear.”] They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.”

Again, look at the track record of what has historically been allowed to happen in the US.

Everything we see points to perhaps the biggest deception in living history, but you get off test driving what little debate skills you think you have, being a mouthpiece of official narrative, on a conspiracy web site.

It's not looking good.

Good thing YT would’ve banned Joe Rogan’s podcast with Dr. Malone.

Wonder when Fauci will accept an invite from Rogan?

Will that get banned?

Edit: to the OP. Well laid out. Nice thread chap.

That’s the whole point, keep your customers permanently unhealthy and you have profits for life.. or failing that mandate a jab even though they are quite healthy, and while your at it make sure you get granted indemnity.

What a racket! The Mafia would be proud.

In near 50 years of being in the medical field, only one thing has remained constant. That one thing is "change".

It could take hours, days, years, or centuries, but what was good, what was safe, what was recommended, can change.

For the sake of truth and honesty, we used to give the patient as much information as we had, about a treatment and possible outcomes. Stressing that every single individual was unique, and the desired outcome may not happen for everyone.

That is why it is called "practicing" medicine. That is why patients were given informed consents. That is why patients were given a choice. That is why you never coerced, intimidated, or threatened a patient when it came to medications, treatments, or therapy.

But as it has always been, medicine has now changed. And we are now allowing ourselves to become guinea pigs in the practicing of medical money making schemes.

We give more concern to the treatment of animals than we do our own children.

We aren't sheep. Me are lab rats. As as much as we like to think we are, we are not all, the "pretty ones".

Great OP I suspect you’ve not been drinking your fluorinated water or eating glyphosate coated veggies.

I’ve always wondered about the titles the psychopathic warlords who rule us expect us to address them by.. things like “your highness” “your excellency” “your majesty” “your grace” “lord” I think when we call them by such titles we are suggesting for them god like authority.
