Spider-Man 3 villain will be: the sandman...

March 28, 2005 — According to Harry Knowles over at Aint It Cool News, they can now confirm that Thomas Hayden Church will be playing The Sandman in 'Spider-Man 3'. Multiple spies at Sony have confirmed that Thomas Hayden Church will indeed be playing SANDMAN. There's a ton of Sandman conceptual art all over the Spidey-offices! Hit the link below for more!

i am not a major fan of spider-man but i still have never heard of this bad guy...

That's a good call, but I don't know why they would choose him out of all the continuity options.

The Vulture, Kraven and Morbius will make better villains. I would even pick The Terrible Tinkerer as a better character villain than Sandman, but these are just SFX movies, after all.

SHOCKER!!!!! Love that guy, now he kicks ass!

Sandman is a old character, like Hammer Head, or TombStone are.

Don't like Vulture, go with Shocker, or Scorpion. Another good one is Spot. That guy would be great for sfx.

Don't you see what a kickin' big screen follow-up that character would be for George W Bush? He didn't come across very well in Fahrenheit 911, after all.

He doesn't come across well in any speaking roles..... Anyways, maybe VENOM!!! YES! Have Venom and Carnage, the symbiotes! Now THAT would be a kick ass movie!

Perhaps it is the Sin-6 they are bringing up? Nobody saw Dr. Ock die....and you know his claws probably drug his butt to shore. So maybe...just maybe we might see the whole Shebang on the next one.

But, I do wish they would start on the Venom saga. They kinda started it with Tri-J's son was introduced. They just haven't had Spidey save him yet and get the symbiote...perhaps that could be in the third one. He uses the suit to beat the six in 3. I wish they would spit out more on it...anwho...

I truly hope they don't just give him his own movie. It would be tacky and perhaps bad...

Well, except it is gonna be Harry Osbourne as the Green Goblin, just like in the comics. Damn it, I love Venom/Carnage, love Shocker, still got my action figure of him. But probably going to be HO since he was "released" in SM2.

I mean it, I've only seen the TV shows and the movies(which were MORE AWESOME than X-MEN& X-MEN2)! But seriously, who's Sandman? How do you think how the story will go?

i have no idea who he is...

then again, i am not a huge fan...

Sandman is a guy made of well, sand.... not really the best bad guy, though more creative then someone like Toad from Xmen.

But if you watch SM2, Harry Osbourne becomes Green Goblin, just like in the comic series and the cartoon show. But damn it, want Shocker, or the Symbiotes Venom and Carnage, they would be great!

BTW, if they did use Venom/Carnage, which ones? The ones from Spiderman were basically smart suits, but the Venom comics the person wearing the suit can become invisable and the person himself, not just the symbiote, can become liquid to get through doors and stuff.
