Maybe as far as poverty goes, but infringement on human rights is at an all time high reaching China/N Korea/Nazi levels.

There's always been 'violence happening' around the world.
It's just with MSM, social media and current en vogue hypersensitivities its far more reported, sensationalised and high profile.

And the 'me, me, me' attitude that is so prevalent throughout modern day society has helped foster the 'world owes me a living' mindset.

Yes, there are still many, many social injustices and we should be doing far, far better in addressing them....but some times you just got to knuckle under, make the most of what you've got and simply get on with it.

People's expectations have changed in line with improved standards of living etc - yes, even in places like China - and no-one wants/likes to see these things slide.

People are also just so #ing sick of being brow beaten and being told what to do and what they can or can not say.
