So does Money change people ?

i wonder did Mark Zuckerburg always have such lofty socialist ideals ? Was he always such a little Control freak snake in the grass ?

He didn't have any problems with Capitalism when he took all those investments from the Hedge-funders , But look at him now up on his Socialist soap box Donating hundreds of Millions to Democratic campaigns and censoring anything negative to the Left and Rigging Presidential Elections .

That is along way to come from dropping out of College .

If I were President, I think I'd be a nightmare for the Secret Service.

"Hello, White House? Yeah, this is Jack's Pool Hall again. The President's here again, drinking tequila and shooting 9 ball for money. Can you send somebody to pick him up? "

Yes.

Sell all that you have and follow me..... The problem isn't the wealth itself its the fruit of it. Adulation, narcissism, pride (being the worst) and material possession.

The apostled pooled all their resources (except Judas) just ask Annanias and Saphira! This prevented wanton misuse of funds.

Wealth is a prison for the flesh.

I've never seen a verse that says that.

There is one that says "The love of money is the root of all evil".

Not "money", but the "love" of money...

People get it twisted.

We live in the age of the substitute religion headed by false prophets such as Joel Osteen a motivational speaker whom has made himself super rich by speaking HIS version of Christianity to the people he brainwashes with his very persuasive and infectious technique (Yes you CAN and so can many others that also spread this false brand of Christianity), the PROSPERITY religion that promised prosperity on earth to those that ask it of God when in fact that is NOT what he said, he said ask in my name which of course means as if you were me from my perspective, ask from my side or ask in accord with the ways I have shown you.
(This Norwegian woman in 1968 was given knowledge if the future by Jesus and prophesied such men and there corruption of the faith and I am not saying Osteen is evil just he is very wrong, I actually believe he believed in what he is preaching or else is an extremely good actor but he is simply wrong, God can make you prosper but only if it is for a reason further down the line else he rewards you in your TRUE life and this is just the Pre-Life during which he finds out what and who we are so that is why we face so many tests, challenges and hurdles on this world)

He also said if a child ask's his father for poison the father will not give it to the child.

If you have TWO (or more) coats and your brother (Neighbour see the good Samaritan for clarification - you are to be the good Samaritan not the other way around though that may happen to you as well) and your brother has non give unto him the one you are not using.

Store up your treasure in heaven NOT on the earth.

To the rich young man whom was nevertheless a devout man whom kept the law "Go sell all you own and come follow me (Become an apostle - if he had done as Jesus said)" at which the young man went away sad because he had great wealth.

The Rich have HAD there reward on earth AND it is harder for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a RICH MAN to enter the kingdom of Heaven but with God all things are possible (the young man was a good soul so he was going to save him anyway so you can be good and rich as well but burden's you like the man whom had men under his authority).

On and on and on.

But being wealthy is not a mortal sin by any means, it helps you pay the bills after all but it also means you could help others and how many do.

At least in some men's case they are genuine philanthropists and genuinely pay a decent wage to there workers but in other men's cases they are complete and utter inhuman butt plug's so take that as you shall, think about it though.

And remember Christs word's, as you treat the least of these (the poorest, the most downtrodden and rejected by society, the bum's on the street) so too do YOU treat ME.

And "the Birds of the air have there nests, the Fox's there hole but the son of man has NO PLACE TO LAY HIS HEAD (Is Homeless) (He came into his own and it knew him not (the world Rejected it's creator)), and of course My kingdom is not of the earth if it were my servants would fight to prevent my arrest) and (I am not OF this world).

AND I forgot this part as well.

Jesus was critical of the Rabbi that went about wanting public respect, status in society and wearing expensive clothes while pretending to be the upright moral leaders when in fact he also described some of them as being like tomb's, white and grand on the outside but filled with death and corruption within.

This was NOT just against rabbi's but we all have a little of that within us and we have to be aware of it and not let it rule us.

What good to a multi billionaire is a cruise ship sized yacht he seldom sails on and all those homes around the world often in country's he never even visit's.

Country's that often have huge homeless populations, poverty is rampant and the rich live in a different world feasting among the forest of the damned and poor like Vlad Tepes did among a forest of impaled peasants because they rebelled against his cruelty.

Of which kingdom are we, of God's or of the Devil's, the Devil's a kingdom of stolen wealth and authority he once tried to tempt Jesus with since as Jesus said no one has seen the father not even the ANGELS in heaven (which Satan used to be) only the SON has seen the father (and the only way you can see God is by seeing the Son, you see Jesus you see God but the devil did not recognize his own God whom he had betrayed and was cast out for doing so even going so far as to try to tempt GOD into worshipping him).

Yes, but that doesn't address the issue of being too famous. Nor of the fact of the wealth and fame of Abraham, and of Joseph (as second to Pharaoh), and of a few prophets, and of numerous kings of Israel, all of whose wealth and fame were attributed as reward for their righteousness.

I also consider prosperity gospels to be corruption of what Jesus preached. They are heretical. Clearly wealth and position are beside the point and true repentance, forgiveness and forgiving, acceptance of Jesus forgiveness of us, and a closeness to God and open sensitivity to hear God's Spirit, are far more important.

However, there is a propensity in the world to make assumptions about what the Bible says, and to then state that assumption as fact. In this way, people come to believe things that are untrue. I just wanted the OP to specifically reference where in the Bible it says those things, rather than make assumptions.

Your post, mentioning about the hypocrisy of the Rabbi's seeking status, and the many warnings against placing reliance on wealth, have answered my post quite well.

I agree with you one hundred percent but remember that sometimes the holy spirit may reveal or make an understanding were others may not see it in someone when they read the scriptures, the devil also tries however to corrupt them.

In this case I believe some rich people are rich for a reason, take Joseph of Arimathea a Rabbi and member of the Sanhedrin whom was on Jesus side and a follower of Jesus and in whose tomb Jesus was buried he was not a poor man as he had a high status rock cut tomb made new for him and his family and he was exactly were God wanted him to be to fulfil God's plan for Jesus crucifixion and resurrection.

So being rich does not doom a person, having wealth does not but what we do with it if we have it may count against OR for us depending on our actions.

At one time a very misguided Church sold salvation for money to the rich but that was back in the days of the Borgia and that lot of corrupt anti popes (whom were balanced by many REAL saint's that lived at the same times often living in poverty and suffering for there faith in acts of penitence and self crucifixion for the world and there church's).
