Hello ATS!

Recently on the forum I have seen a very hot topic about the "betrayal" of some generals of the American army. For example, forum threads related to General Mark Milley. In fact, not everything is so obvious. as some distinguished members of the forum wrote. The general's motives have not yet been studied on the forum, and extreme opinions prevail. But now is not about that.

I want to tell you about the fate of Russian generals and admirals, who for various reasons changed their oath and betrayed their Emperor. Their fate turned out to be unenviable.

"Loyalty is the foundation of honor."

The empire stood indestructible while the officers of the Russian imperial army lived and died under this motto. Cheating on your duty, no matter how you manipulate with beautiful words, justifying a committed act, is always disgusting, in its essence. Betrayal of the oath. no matter what motivating motives it is justified, it always leads to disaster, both for the country and for the traitors.

In the photo - the commander of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Empire, Vice Admiral Adrian Nepenin. He tried to deceive fate, justifying his betrayal by "unwillingness to shoot at his own people." He was undoubtedly a brave officer - the Order of St. George is evidence of this. The vice admiral did a lot for the fleet, it is worth remembering the creation of naval intelligence. A real genius in encryption.

But he committed the worst sin - a mistake. He believed the Bolsheviks, decided that it was possible and necessary to come to an agreement with them. The concept of "Bolsheviks" and "people" mixed in his head, clouded his mind and poisoned his heart.

He did not want to shoot the "people". But the "people" wanted and shot. The Bolsheviks should be given their due: in their lack of principle, they were effective. Nepenin betrayed his oath and betrayed his Emperor. As a result, he received his well-deserved award - he was shot in the back, being unarmed, by revolutionary sailors.

At least he died quickly, the others were not so lucky. The gloomy result: Nebolsin, Rein, Girs, Viren, Protopopov, Butakov, Stronsky - these are only generals and admirals who were tortured and destroyed. According to the official report, in addition to them, 125 officers of the Baltic Fleet were killed, 11 disappeared, 4 were shot. Nobody counted non-commissioned officers.

The whole color of the Baltic Fleet is squadron commanders, ship commanders, warheads, navigators, signalmen, engineers, mechanics. With their death, he finally ceased to be a combat unit and could only "puff" menacingly in the port. What's the use of a ship if no one knows how to steer it?

Think about the fate of your army and navy as you start hounding your generals and admirals. Fate will punish the real traitors, but the entire command staff can fall under the campaign of persecution, and this will lead not only to the loss of the army, but the state.

Thank you.

In the not to distant past before the woke crowd got in charge we too shot traitors or sent them to Club fed to live out their lives. 30 or 40 thousand a year to house and feed them when all that was needed was about 50 cents of ammo to the forehead. Forehead so they can look the executioner in the eye.

It was Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC) in the timeless "The Traitor is the Plague" who said: “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

Stalin could not afford to have a military genius that was from the old ways. These Admirals, Generals violated their oaths and were treated as they should have been for being traitors. How could they trust someone who just betrayed the Czar? The leaders would have been better off dying in battle fighting for their King and country. They would be heros.

You don't know much about Russian history. Stalin received supreme power only after November 7, 1927, when Trotsky's revolt failed. At the beginning of the revolution, Trotsky, Sverdlov and Lenin were in charge.

"The traitor is the plague" sounds familiar.

Almost like it's a recurring theme inside every country.

I was of the impression Stalin was able to manipulate his way up the ladder and positioned himself well.

I think it was due to multiple factors. Stalin took advantage of the factionalism in the Bolshevik party, but there were other things that allowed him to gain power. There were the issues Trotsky faced such as antisemitism and him making a lot of mistakes, like him refusing to attend Lenin's funeral.
