Social Security recipients will see larger checks starting January 2022 as a result of a 5.9% increase from the new cost of living adjustment.
This is not to be confused with the remaining payments in 2021, which will be paid as regularly scheduled and amounted payments with checks earlier in the year. This means that whatever you have been receiving throughout the year will continue to be the amount you receive in your benefit check for the remainder of the year.
The next scheduled Social Security payment in 2021 is Wednesday, Dec. 8 for those with birth dates between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Following payments will be on Dec. 15 for those whose birthdays are between the 11th and the 20th and then on Dec. 22 for those whose birthdays are between the 21st and the 31st.
whats your take on this

Ok, but unless I utterly misinterpreted, that payment schedule is not new, though? My grandmother's came in ON her birthday without fail for a very, very long-ass time and she explained is as bluntly as possible: "It's doled out based on what week your birthday is in."
Same goes for my dad, and mother -- they both get theirs within a few days of their birthdays, too. I've been under the impression for about 20 years that this is standard....

I think you all will be getting your check on your normal day. I read somewhere that there is talk of lowering the medicare premium increase, too. Not sure if you are paying for medicare or not.
