It's sad.
I almost immigrated to Australia quite a few years ago. A trip my wife had been planning to British Columbia in Canada by train has been put on hold. Here in the states we're seeing indefinite mask mandates in Oregon and mandatory vaccinations.
The world has gone mad.

In the video, look at all the parked cars outside the shopping mall. Look at the traffic.
This is a sad nutcase self-harming over doom-porn that doesn't even appear to be happening.
Oh, someone you know then?
Did they lose their job, home, or Family because of all the not caring going on?

For the people who are about to loose their livelihoods because they don't possess the latest passports... it's a very happening thing.
My son lives in Werribee. He's not really noticing anything draconian. He commutes to University on public transport when they aren't under lockdown and says that things aren't as bad as some websites and social media are painting them.
I'll get his comment on this tonight.
Is there no vaccine mandate there to function freely in society?
None of the 'good Germans' noticed anything draconian either...just sayin.

It's weird to see everywhere else freak out about the covid, but here in FL, life continues on as normal, as it has since the pandemic started.
its like two different worlds right now

Does he notice anything draconian when he’s under lockdown? Has it occurred to him that this, like the patriot act will never go away? Does he wear glasses by any chance? Because when actually free to commute with a mask on your glasses steam up and it’s hard to see whats going on.

Australia has fairly good social services. Do you have any evidence at all that she lost her job, home, or family?

Well maybe, but the guy in Tunisia set off an entire “Arab Spring”. Maybe this woman hoped to set off a Melbourne Spring.

Generally, setting yourself on fire as a protest is ignored by the media, and is not useful in affecting change.
Oh right .... no COVID only women who set themselves on fire due to her personal loss from the shutdown ...

Life here in the West of Australia shut off from the world is not so bad. We have had no spread of covid, the economy is ticking along. We only had restrictions once for a week. Life is great unless you want to fly to and from Victoria or other contries.
