The most likely scenario - ass-u-me-ing he is not a bad guy playing a role - is he knew people would demand it, but more importantly, he knew the lockdowns were coming (he had access to sources we can only vaguely imagine), and likely why they were coming (ie forcing the 'Great Reset'), so did the only thing he could do to try to minimize the damage and at the same time take the wind out of their doom-porn sails.

I actually think it was about the only thing he could do.

what I have a problem with is all the other things he could have done that he didn't do, like issue EOs requiring hospitals to treat people (as opposed to just making them comfortable until they couldn't breathe without a ventilator) with anything and everything at their disposal until they developed protocols that worked. In spite of the fact that he didn't do this, Doctors got together and did this anyway (FLCCC), but they were demonized and ridiculed for it (still are, even by many on here).

I thought it during the campaign, moreso once he won, and much moreso as the opening act of Pandemic Theatre commenced.

"It" being that it is PAINFULLY obvious that Trump was/is controlled opposition, playing an important role in the plan/process of leading us to the "Great" (aka Terrible) Reset.

"Dark Winter" is coming? Then the "Great Reset", and then 6uild 6ack 6etter commences. It seems Trump (long-time Clinton friend and ally) still has a role to play - perhaps it's simply to keep a True and Loyal American from challenging H̶a̶r̶r̶i̶s̶ Biden in the 2024 election, should one arise.

During his presidency, he did / tried enough right things, towards reversing the purposeful attack on our nation's sovereignty, economy and freedoms, while also throwing out plenty of obvious "discredit anything this guy says/does" lines (i.e. injecting bleach to kill the Rona or whatever), pushing hard for fast-tracked, screw long-term, thorough testing vaccines, etc.

Such ludicrous statements perhaps were designed to make the anti-American snake Fauci seem trustworthy, from a sciemce perspective (despite all of his bad decisions and reversals.)

However, he maintained enough promise of being one of the few patriots in DC to at least pull off the Republican (or 3rd party spoiler?) nomination.

Of course, I don't know anything for sure, but I would feel like a babbling, drooling idiot if I actually believed Trump was what the majority of D's and R's believe him to be.
