I'd assume it's also in all products that include spinach, like dips, frozen spinach, frozen meals & even canned spinach

I believe you are right.

is not only in food.

pharma products, incuding oral higiene have extra ingredients that damage your body.

and guess what...

the unhealthy ingredient added is according to the age of the people that is using the product, then it is more propense to die about a collateral damage.

for example
if more of the population that use dental glue are old, they are going to die from renal poison added in the dental glue, and so on.
also it contains a second ingredient added to reduce the syntoms of rejection in your body, so you dont feel that you are being poisoned.

My mom and dad both come from agricultural backgrounds.

My mom always told me to be very careful with spinach, to always wear gloves when planting as it is poisonous.

There are many foods with a similar flavor profile that are probably a lot safer to eat.
