SUV plows into christmas parade in Waukusha WI. Shots fired too. 1 hr north of Kenosha.

Some dude or dudes in a red SUV drove through a parade smacking into a bunch of people of all ages. At least 20 injured, adults and kids, at least 2 dead, but likely more. The injured were taken to the hospitals in police vehicles, family cars, and ambulances, etc. One suspect is in custody. No one knows if there are more. Original reports were three.

No one yet knows why either.

Much of the thread has been a mix of concern trolling over the speculation as to why. It is pretty certain the perps aren't white because the press hasn't reported any ethnicity that we know of although there were early reports of black men in the SUV.

Of course, the knee jerk is to want to tie this to Rittenhouse, but we don't really know.

Waukesha is probably in shock. The citizens there are already uncomfortable being so close to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is one of, if not THE, most segregated cities in America. Looking at the picture, do you see how the black community is AVOIDED and essentially just lives in one area?

That's the pattern in a lot of northern cities. It gets less segregated the further south you get.

Racism in the north is an entirely different animal than it is in the south.

I mean I don’t want a thread derail but Islam is the worst example you can give. Islam culture is all about tribalism rather than patriotism.

Went to Target in Brown Deer one year.

Was the only time in my life I thought I might get murdered in Target.

On the plus side they have absolutely all the in demand toys and hard to find items.

My family is from Pittsburgh, thankfully my mom and dad ran south as soon as they were married.

Similar to what you say about Milwaukee, everyone lives in their neighbor and marrying outside that area can lead to bad things.

No kidding. I was so surprised during my years living in Chicago and business travels around the area how the entire region is like that. The Irish area, the Mexican area, the Italian area, Greeks area, Puerto Ricans area, little Ukraine…it was very perplexing at the beginning.

I've been to Waukesha many times...for business and for pleasure over the years. As a brown-skinned person, police there watch me closely, and heads turn when I go into a restaurant, until they see that I'm dressed like them, at which point they immediately relax. (No pants down past booty, no tattoos, no hoodie, etc..)

Waukesha is a small town that's mostly free from urban ills. Yet just Just a few miles to the east is unimaginable drug use, violence, poverty.

You talk about Waukesha is if it was 99% white. I’ve also been to Waukesha for business and I saw plenty Hispanics and African Americans as well. I’m dark skin and never felt anyone giving me any odd looks or anything. To the contrary people are pretty sweet compared to people from the cities in the region.
