Because they don't want to "accidentally" capture photo's of visitors coming and going to earth?

Greetings ATS,

……

Think there could be some benefit to that? Bad weather, Hurricanes? So, we have HD pictures of Mars but can't photograph the Earth because we don't have a camera on the moon yeah?

Does anyone else see how ridiculous and absurd that is?

We don’t have weather cameras on the moon because it’s much more effective to have them in geostationary orbit. That way they can cover any given location continuously and they can provide much better resolution (because they’re closer).

Here’s a website where you can go and watch more or less real-time images of the Earth any time you want:

www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov...

I usually watch it multiple times a day to see what the weather is doing in my state.

Just because the images are not openly shared with the public, does not mean that they do not exist. It could simply mean that they are not sharing the images with us.

Pretty sure you're in the wrong thread, or maybe the wrong website?

You seem adamant that a camera on the moon monitoring Earth is an absolute necessity. Can you please explain why? What is it that you are hoping this camera will see? And why can we not see it using the satellites we already have?

I see no value in this whatsoever. None. Nothing. We have multiple satellites in orbit taking extremely high resolution photos that can be stitched together to create a complete Earth. Why is it so absolutely necessary to use a single camera from further away that will guarantee lower resolution photos?

Our scientific interest is generally to aim the cameras away from Earth. We know here. We are here. We can get all the pictures of here we could ever want or need. What we don't know is out there...

Could it be that the PTB don't want a camera on the moon because all these satellite photos are doctored and a moon camera would prove the Earth is a round flat disc and not an orb.
That's sarcasm by the way.

You already know the answer to your post.

Hiding God from you is the agenda. If Earth is flat it proves it was created specifically for us.

Look at who replies to you and which threads they pick to get involved in....

Ummm...because we haven't placed a satellite in a high enough orbit to take the snapshot...?

Or we haven't been back to the moon yet...and the only rover currently operating there...is on the dark side...?

Nope, not doing that dance.........

I asked a question, that is the point of the thread. Wow, video from the ISS, sweet! Now, tell me why there isn't a stationary high res camera on the moon that videos the Earth 24/7. Don't tell me we can't do it cause I'll show you HD footage from Mars, much further away. Don't tell me that there is no reason, I can list over a dozen.

Don't reply with ISS footage, answer the question.....

You know why, the Moon Aliens don't want cameras on their property.

Not sure the specific answer, but it is a good question.

I worked for gewgle maps for a bit and I can tell you they have a ton of assets, and the stuff that is edited out was also edited out on my end. It seemed like they used older low res maps sometimes to hide details (HAARP), other times it was cropped out photoshop style (NSA stations in AUS).

The single image map they keep using for the zoomed out view of the earth may be because it's like someone said, we don't have active cameras on the moon facing earth (Maybe for a reason we don't know), also they might want to hide something they don't want us seeing.

Is it because the moon is a lot closer than you've been told...

According to this web site, there IS someone live streaming from the moon, at least during the first of this year, and it looks like someone is there now, maybe?

This popped up on my utube subs last night. Interesting that this thread occurred today...

We don’t know here from squat.

How far down ‘we’ drilled?

A camera on the moon would be amazing, educators the world round could show kiddies the round world.

The aliens on the moon can make adjustments like you adjust your front door cam.

K. That last sentence was a half joke.

Seriously though, there is more value in this proposal then listening to the wind on mars.

It would be a neat novelty for sure, but as others are asking you Helious, what would it show us other than entertainment value that satellites are not currently?

As for why we dont have one, I'd imagine it to be most likely due to the cost/benefit ratio.
Once travel to the moon gets cheaper and more commonplace I've no doubt you'll get your "earth cam".

How can some of you replying even take yourselves seriously? Novelty?

What kind of atmospheric science, what kind of data could we glean from a full time HD camera on the moon? I could go on for days about the scientific benefits and the monetization of the the moon channel could absolutely fund programs.

Any attempt at saying this isn't viable is laughable and disingenuous. Saying we have multiple rovers on Mars with HD equipment and sent probes into Titan and then saying, well, we just don't really need a camera on the Moon to see Earth cause we have a picture from 1969 and plenty of fake composite images and we have satellites so yeah, not needed.

Give me a break........ Seriously. I really need people on ATS to think about just this one question. It really does seem Ludacris doesn't it? Why isn't there a camera on the moon filming Earth?
