Enjoy!!!

thats a homemade thing. Saw it on www.killsometime.com in the movie section. Seriously, that thing would be totally useless in combat situations. Even for scouting, I doubt it would serve any useful purpose other than being an extra target. Id say Humvee's can cover anything that little tank can do.

I know, it was suposed to be a joke
. With the tendency to make the FCS lighter, the future armored forces will offer not much better protection.
However I saw simillar german or french small tank/armored vehicle, that really exists - two man crew, deployable by Chinook or Ch-53. That was funny thing too. Too bad I lost pictures, can anybody from Germany/France help?

if you mean lightly armoured vehicles with chains, that are called "Waffenträger" (and they arent porpused to be more) or in english "weapon carrier", just cuz your lame country hasnt got any of them, it doesnt mean they are as crappy as you are!

I guess you mean Wiesel/Wiesel II/Ozelot:

btw. you troll, those arent to replace such vehicles:

but are there as light vehicles, mainly for paratroopers, they are better for offroad purpuses and have better armour than cars, so whats wrong with using them?

but if you wanna talk about FCV, well.. germany has also an idea (but not to replace the huger vehicles, just to support them

Yeah the future tanks will be lighter and more maneuverable. I don't like having lighter armored vehicles and no MBT. I think it will leave troops venerable and leave infantry forces out in the open.

The U.S future soldier thing looks dodgy on principle to me.

I mean, i still don't get how "information technology" will protect troops from gunfire. Eventually, some peasant with an Ak-47 will get a shot on you.

Thanks Wodan, that's the vehicle I was looking for (Wiesel). I never said they will replace tanks or that there is something wrong with them I just thought they look funny. What is the fourth one carriing? It looks like anti aircraft version with something like stingers or? And are they really being deployed, or is it only some cancelled project?

Isn`t it a waste of time equiping the Germany army as there govt never wants to go to war? Unless they can be sure that there is no fighting to be done,no chance civillians getting killed or having to kill people !!!

the thing is that with information tech it will help you pervent you from getting shot by you going one step ahead of everybody.

yes, i've heard that but the details are lacking.

modern technology is wonderful but to get to the "all-knowing" stage, to me at least, seems more fiction then reality. The notion of war being quick, clean and free of casualties is more a hollywood obsession then a military doctrine.

not exactly
the military has to protect germany of "military, diplomatic or economically extortion"

so that could also be a hot battle, german forces at the moment just do peacekeeping in former Jugoslavia, Djibuti, Indean ocean, Afghanistan, some elite forces do missions against terrorists in afghan mountains, or do counter terrorist jobs in foreign countrys, and the most part of our troops protect the own soil:

The german forces are fastly on buying newstuff these days, and I know bout many new stuff as examply armoured tracked infantry carriers they will buy in big numbers next years, but didnt mention them as that would take to much time.

I just wanted to show the numbers, so you see german forces arent totally crappy, they are still big enough to defend germany!

And we have such a military cuz there are countrys that have their militarys for other jobs...

you mean I guess..

its Wiesel 2 Ozelot Stinger, and it has 4 rocket launchers for stingers on it, germany has yet 468 Wiesel weapon carriers, but will get more in future (all for the paratroopers as far as I know)

it wont cancilled, well.. it isnt exactly what I would call useful for peacekeeping missions, but they use it(the third wiesel picture I showed already in that topic, was in afghanistan):

a native that earns some cents for his familiy:

germans and russians that meet in former jugoslavia(with wiesel in pics):

as this was a fun thread from the beginning I guess nobody is angry about me posting some pictures

Wow... no need for so many pictures. Its a good thin that most of them don't work or else this thread would really slow down.
And the Information Age or “Centric Warfare” is really helpful in completing a war fast and with precision like never before.
