So I've been watching bits and bobs of this weekends F1 meeting and every single video I can find looks like it is out of the F1 computer game.

Please just scan through this footage and tell me that something isn't off about it:

It's a frigging PC game, look at it. That video is from the official F1 channel.

Surely I'm not the only person who can see the obvious?

Personally, I think they're terrified of the "Lets go Brandon" meme.

This is beyond weird though.

Intriguing...

Do you have an F1 channel in the States?

I'm watching NFL, Eagles vs Raiders, During an extra point there are always signs behind the goalposts, a lot of times it's John 3:16 or whatever.
Tonight it is LET'S GO BRANDON! Country is going down the tubes at a record pace, the people are NOT happy.

Your video in the OP didn't work, can you please post the link?
Thanks.

ETA: You added a new link while I was typing, it's working for me, I'm in NY.

Could it be that they're recording the sensors in every car, and using that accurate information to recreate the race in a digital sense? I know they have the ability to do that in NASCAR.

Maybe? I have close to 1,000 channels but I never scrolled through all of them.

If that's the case then it's a first for F1.

Do you not think it's weird?

The cars. Of course the race happened because lot's of people watched it but the TV footage looks like a game.

Obviously the drivers are real and did race, I just don't understand the need for CGI on the onboards, aerial views etc.

For now I will shelve this in the "Need more evidence" section.

if you compare it to the video below its very similar codemasters F1 game

but the sutble differences is the twitchyness of the real cars, the game version looks on rails almost compared to the real life footage, little things like the suspension twitching, or drivers making tiny movements, which the AI cars dont do as they are programmed to stay on an optimal route.

anywhere after 30mins in above video for most similar viewpoints to what is in your video

We don't know what spec that guy's PC is.

F1 teams have million dollar simulators, the drivers practice on them.
