For instance, when I say President Biden is a nut job for wanting children to be vaccinated against covid-19, that is hate based in logic and science.

The left uses illogical rabid personal attacks... Instead of pointing out substance.

Very annoying and juvenile. People like that should not be allowed on any Trump owned platform.

The Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) says former President Donald Trump’s new social network violated a free and open-source software licensing agreement by ripping off decentralized social network Mastodon. The Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has 30 days to comply with the terms of the license before its access is terminated — forcing it to rebuild the platform or face legal action.

Truth Social doesn’t comply with that license and, in fact, refers to its service as “proprietary.” Its developers apparently attempted to scrub references that would make the Mastodon connection clear — at one point listing a “sighting” of the Mastodon logo as a bug — but included direct references to Mastodon in the site’s underlying HTML alongside obvious visual similarities.

Why am I not surprised that Trump ripped off someone else's work and then tried to pass it off as his own? And the sad thing is, it's not even because Trump didn't want to pay Mastodon for their work. Mastodon is open source as long as you acknowledge your site is based off Mastodon and provide your own source code so the community can benefit from any improvements you may have made.

It seems like the only reason Trump's team tried to scrub any hints of Mastodon from the site is so Trump can strike his ego and be able to claim the site was built from the ground up.

It isn't surprising, but I'm not sure how they thought they could claim it was proprietary. It was immediately noticed it was a Mastodon fork.

I would think they will just fix it, unless it was a pump and dump tax grift and then he can claim some sort of "leftists, cancel culture, shut me out again, poor persecuted me" and try to grift even more donations. Never know!

It's unethical (if not outright criminal) to use open source software for financial gain without giving apropos to the initial coding team. They may be owed a certain share of the profits, since it is technically intellectual property.

I understand that to join you will need to be white and wealthy and not give a damn about the world or its future.

I made it to 43 seconds. Not only is this guy obviously posting a personal opinion (dead giveaway: rolling eyes and shaking head whenever he mentions the name of the site), when he went to "Orwellian" I had to just stop it right there. "Orwellian" refers to government control. It is simply not possible for a social media site to be "Orwellian." Even Facebook and Twitter, as hard as they try to be so, cannot be "Orwellian."

Does this guy have an address? I'd like to send him a dictionary. I hope he can read.

OK, made it almost three minutes in on this one. That might be a record for me watching this kind of childish drivel.

But, at some point, the silly jokes just get to be too much. So he thinks the logo looks like an egg and sperm? Really? That's the reason you don't like Trump opening his own social media site? The logo? Combined with an obviously overactive imagination?
