Every day another article that makes my jaw drop. What is going on?
I am really worried about our future and am seriously concerned about the lack of education right now.
Every story has a similar theme, white person says something completely not racist. Rage follows, sometimes by premature firing, or at the very least calls to be fired.

Here are two perfect examples:
www.yahoo.com...

A professor at the University of California Los Angeles said he filed suit against the school system for suspending him as he faced backlash for not grading black students more leniently in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. "[It's] not a joint effort to get finals canceled for non-black students, but rather an ask that you exercise compassion and leniency with black students in our major," the email allegedly stated.

The response to the student's "patronizing" email asked why black students should be singled out, Klein said.

"Are there any students that may be of mixed parentage, such as half black half-Asian? What do you suggest I do with respect to them? A full concession or just half? Also, do you have any idea if any students are from Minneapolis?" he wrote back. "I assume that they are probably especially devastated as well. I am thinking that a white student from there might possibly be even more devastated by this, especially because some might think that they're racist even if they are not."

His response was deemed "racist" by several students, who then formed a petition of over 20,000 signatures demanding his termination.

You read that right, TWENTY thousand people are so dense they don’t realize that this professor might possible be one of the most non racist professors out there. He absolutely refused to treat black students differently. Crazy!

www.sandiegouniontribune.com...

This one is just your episode that I’ll call The Daily Dumb!!

San Diego State University students expressed outrage Tuesday over a professor’s use of a cultural stereotype about Blacks in an online class — anger that was followed a short time later by campus officials defending the teacher’s right to make a point about racial ideology

The class is all about racist events in history. The professor used an EXAMPLE of racism and students were calling for him to be fired. I think those students should be kicked out until they are capable of learning at a college level.

YES again, you’re reading that right. A class about racism, and the professor gave an example of racist thinking and the students want his head because he used an EXAMPLE…….

As I read the pages of ATS, it's evident to me that everyone is angry. Angry about someone, something, real or imagined.
Racism is just a component of something much larger. idk, if its spiritual, ecological, or a new mental consciousness; whatever it is, it's weird. Perhaps we used up our supply of smiles and laughter.

People get outraged over anything these days. You can't just go around speaking the truth anymore. We don't want anyone to have their feelings hurt.

They are making education pretty much useless for preparing students to enter the work force. We are in the lead, in the race to the bottom, considering how the learning of math and proper English in school is now considered racist. Gotta give them them easy tests that they can pass without studying.

It's a good thing that I am somewhat fluent in Mandarin.

I agree with what you said about racism being a component of something larger/else.
It is obviously not just about actual racism, we’ve seen too many examples that it isn’t.
It is pent up anger coming out in every which way? Is it to blur the lines of racism so people can choose when they want to declare it?

I thought the professor was right on point, when he mentioned students that are half black, how would he grade them?

It is because the new cultural norm is to point out how awesome and good we are by tearing down others around us. Think about how much of Critical Race Theory scholarship at university level is papers dedicated to explaining how this person from history or that cultural practice is actually very horrible and terribly degrading in some way or other.

They are trained to do themselves what they seek out.

Remember when Jesus remarks that "there are none good, no not one" this is why.

We have decided for ourselves what 'moral good' ought to be, instead of hanging onto the creators morality, which would have spared us ALL of this nonsense, we're running around calling good evil and evil good.

Racism is a thing when people make it a thing, any time it's used to bully someone or as an excuse for faux power, the racism becomes a crutch. People who need crutches aren't walking right to begin with.

We have become morally degenerate and so our societies are under judgement, this is how severe it is. No one dares to call a woman a woman, or a criminal a criminal. We invent ways to excuse the inesxusable and it will get worse because no one seems to have the solution.

The solution is repentence on a nationwide level, good luck with that.

All you can do now is reject this evil on an individual basis. I have been accused of racism 4 times over the last year. Not once has it ever stuck, or meant anything at all..... In fact on all 4 counts, because I didn't back down (and had basically the entire black communities support) they accusers PERSONALLY apologised to me. All times. Funny thing is, every time my accuser was a white liberal angry that I wouldn't accept socialistic ideals. Go figure!

You don't get to just demonise someone because you disagree with them, that's the job of a petty, vindictive little tyrant.

So being nice to black people is racism? Where did you come up with that? His email was completely racist. Good riddance.

What would you say to the question he posed in the email;

Half black students get half or full?

How about locals of any race from Minneapolis?

So basically grading black students to a different standard is "nice" now instead of degrading to them?

It used to be that when one suffered a personal tragedy, one was allowed extra time for these things, not given unearned "A" graded for perceived victimhood.

It gave me chills reading such tone deaf language. What a racist idiot.

Curve grades and allow scholarships for equity and you get the mentally unqualified who feel great about acceptance and often drop out due to work that is over their heads. It's more harmful to them to "help" in this way than it is to let the standards apply across the board.

ETA: A PhD friend recently quit his position (nearly tenured!) over the forcing of these radical racial policies. Glad I avoided academia!

Yes of course it would have been a nice thing to do, instead he protested and wrote a racist email. Case closed.

It was never about equality. Equality is the last thing they want. That would mean they have to work just as hard, and get just as little in return as everyone else. No. They want revenge and free stuff. They want the world to kiss their butts and give them a free pass on things the rest of us pay for.

Damn that sucks!

No. It's a racist thing to do. No one else gets soft grading for personal tragedies. Blacks aren't better than anyone else for being black ... unless you're implying that blacks are actually less than the rest of us and just can't take it ... because you're black?

There are stats on that. Black males have the highest college dropout rates because of what you describe. They get accepted completely unprepared and wash out, often with debt. It's tragic and doesn't need to be that way. They catch the worst of the "equity" culture and misandry in education all at once.

Those who don't know what racism is, only need to look at what the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has said about black people over the past two years.

Reparations and once being legally labeled as 2/3rds human is not the same thing. Wow, I can't believe you just tried to argue that.
