The best part about this research, they clearly saw no statistical reason to even take masks into consideration. The thought that you are breathing air without filtering it, but wont catch or spread airborne diseases, is asinine.

There is a clear statistical difference if you analyze the data for the last 2 months, and it's more than just a "marginally positive association". However, even though the vaccine causes more cases, it also lowers the chance of death for those who contract Covid-19, and those two things cancel each other out. I did this analysis last week but I posted it at a bad time so not many people saw it:

Maybe I'm seeing things, but it certainly looks like the above chart shows the opposite trend than what would be expected from an effective vaccine. It actually looks like Covid-19 has an easier time spreading through countries with higher vaccination rates, and those least vaccinated are forming a cluster of countries with very low case numbers. Well they admit the vaccine wont stop the spread of Covid-19, but maybe it will still reduce the symptoms? Well lets create another scatter chart, this time analyzing the fraction of cases which result in death.

UPDATE 10.5.2021

COVID-19 HOSPITALIZATIONS ARE DROPPING FAST!

CDC Tracker: gis.cdc.gov...

Desperation time for the freaks who enjoy lording over people, and/or making money off the China virus.

RESIST ALL OF IT.

Hold on a little longer. You can do it!

Oops. You do realize that a massive drop in hospitalizations are the opposite of what this paper implies.

Please... it's lethality is 1.6% at most and its hospitalization is 5% that's pretty much been the ratio this whole time. Worldwide

Nationally, statewide, province or prefecture county city town or village, but you keep wringing your worried hands there little feller.

Despite your statistics, 4,814,745 people have died of COVID-19 worldwide - drowning slowly in their own body fluids.

I'm being a little dramatic, but I'm not trying to deny anything.

More like the usual
Up to 650 000 people die of respiratory diseases linked to seasonal flu each year
www.who.int...

The rest were heart attacks, even car accidents!

Deaths this year worldwide so far 48,106,570 so it's about 2.5% of the deaths from COVID, but let's remember less than 6% of those deaths were totally on COVID alone, not to mention unless you are 65 and older that death and hospitalization totals really drop to virtually being nonexistent.

New Zealand has 70% vaccinated I'm pretty sure you are gonna be fine, WELL that's if the vaccines really work, and you get your boosters every 6 months. All the while with still economy crushing mandates and restrictions.

A time will tell but I wouldn't be surprised if New Zealand gets its fair share of cases, hospitalizations and deaths. After all didn't they abandon their total elimination goal, after they found out it was unattainable?

Same Harvard researcher says this.

“Other research has clearly and definitively established that the vaccines significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization and mortality.”

Translation: Vaxxed people stopped socially distancing.

The numbers to watch aren't the infection numbers. You can register as having covid simply because you have trace amounts in your nasal cavities. You want to watch the sickness rates, especially the seriously sick.

A million fully vaxxed asymptomatic people means that the vax has things under control.

Here’s some pre-Covid science.

"These less-than-perfect vaccines create a “leaky” barrier against the virus. Vaccinated individuals may get sick but have less severe symptoms, but the virus survives long enough to transmit to others, which allows it to survive and spread throughout a population.
“Our research demonstrates that the use of leaky vaccines can promote the evolution of nastier ‘hot’ viral strains that put unvaccinated individuals at greater risk,” Nair said."

Wait wait, wait... did you just pull that from one of my posts last year?

That is exactly what I have been saying since this thing began two years ago, and every time I was either ignored or poo-pooed.

What the hell happened? Did someone turn the universe upside down while I was sleeping?

Except that's a hoax, and is based on people confusing virus mutations with anti-biotic resistance in bacteria. The author of the original paper debunked this a while back.

My conclusion?

I quoted a pre-Covid article that got egg on its face.

A lot of this has been covered by the MSM, and was discussed a year or so back. But people forgot about it, blocked it out, or just plain didn't want to know.

It seems that all pre-Covid science is a hoax.

The Health Line article says at the top that it is Fact Checked, the author hasn’t retracted anything and Read and others are quoted in it.

Problem is it goes against the Cult of The Vax but how would they know that in 2019?

Damage control.

A number of news reports made note of NZ giving up their elimination strategy on October 4th, but this was speculative after NSW Australia announced that it was giving up its elimination strategy.

The government of New Zealand have said that they are not giving up their elimination strategy, but the opposition party's spokesperson has alleged it (on September 21).

The NZ government has changed its approach to deal with a longer-haul strategy for elimination, based primarily on vaccination numbers. At the same time, they have suggested they will allow high-school students back to school soon, and this is clearly sending very mixed signals, as the (modified) Level 3 lock-down is still in place for some regions, and they are discussing new systems for dealing with COVID-19 after a greater than 90% full vaccination (two doses) rate is achieved.

Since we aren't at 90%, and the government is still discussing how the new system will look, the suggestion that they have abandoned their elimination strategy is a matter of opinion. They definitely have changed their strategy.

Numbers of new infections have increased over time, but they are fluctuating, and the trend has been both up, and down, such that there is a possibility that we might achieve elimination, but there have also been some setbacks too.

Despite the numbers of daily new cases (74 new cases yesterday), the death toll from COVID-19 in NZ remains at 28 since our first case in 2020, so what we have been seeing overseas, in terms of mortality, is not actually happening here.

The mixed signals are understandable. At some point child neglect becomes unpalatable. People are bound to start questioning the wisdom of abandoning an entire generation of school kids.
