Are you gonna watch it? The Many Saints of Newark

Tomorrow is the big day!
I’ve been eagerly awaiting for October 1st to arrive so I can watch the Sopranos prequel, The Many Saints of Newark.

To prime myself, I recently finished watching all the seasons of the Sopranos just so I could remember all the events the crew talked about “in the good old days”

The reviews, like any hyped up movie are mixed.
This is probably due to a couple factors;
millennial critics not being familiar with the Sopranos.
Or two, people having outlandish expectations that somehow a 2 hour movie can bring together the most epic of all TV shows in which its universe span across 6 seasons.

Im off work this week so I plan on watching it tomorrow morning on HBO Max.

I’m hoping we see Feech La Manna’s card game get robbed by Tony and the boys - which’s is what eventually led to his rising in the ranks.



ETA: It seems I spoke too soon!
Apparently HBO Max isn’t available in my region (fricken Canada)
I just went to sign up and it said not a in my region.
Utterly ridiculous! Treating me like I’m in North Korea or something.
Yes, our dollar is a joke. But if you put enough loonies and twoonies together, surely they amount to something!

And this right here is a prime example why there will always be a desire for third party streaming sites.
I’ll happily close out a few ads to stream this tomorrow afternoon once someone posts it online.

I saw it last weekend, I thought it captured the pathos of the series but it could have been better. Gandolfini's kid was very good along with the guy who played Dickie Molitsanti. Overall I think it's a 7 out of 10.

Can’t wait. Looking forward to see Dickie M. , Aprile bros , Uncle Ercoli and Johnny boy and junior. I always hoped they would have come out with a series . Just seems like a lot to cover with a movie

I'll end up watching it when I visit my buddy who has all the bells and whistles media-wise..


I'm looking forward to seeing a younger Paulie gaultieri, he is my favorite character.

Also tony B.. I can't wait to see who got whacked for calling him ickabod

And since it's ATS ... I am also hopeful to learn more of what involvement Corrado had in the whole JFK thing..

If you ever make it down this way I can give you the tour, I recognized pretty much all of the location shots.

I have been trying.. but I find it more and more tedious.

It's as if the corporate overlords at AMC no longer care and are milking the last season to wring out every last drop of the writers integrity and creative juice just to squat and drop the pale bland pulpy substance that no longer deserves the respect I somehow still give it...

Yes. I will. I still watch the Sopranos, even though I have seen the entire series many times over.
I think it should be a series though. Maybe if the movie does well....they will make one?
