Hello ATS, it's not often that I pay attention to the covid "warnings" and "helpful" social distancing information over loudspeakers when entering stores nowadays, mostly because they ALL have it and I'm not wearing a mask even if they ask me. The suggestions are usually in one ear and out the other.

However, just today I walked into my local Walgreens (it's like a CVS store, but better) and I wasn't looking forward to checking out because the troll behind the counter is someone who is known to have a weird attitude about everything and I just try to get in their and out when she's working.

Anyways, I'm sitting ho-humming looking at the ceiling and this slightly odd voice comes over the loud-speaker. It's clear it was a recording so I'm thinking this thing was recorded for all of the Walgreens stores. I bet if you walk into your Walgreens and listen long enough you'll hear it.

It went like this, "Thanks for shopping at Walgreens... blah blah blah... A reminder, masks are NOT required for those individuals who are fully vaccinated. However, local and state rules still apply (not to my Sheriff, haha) and (here it comes) GLOBAL ORDERS are [paraphrasing because I can't remember now] ..are still in effect."

I let out a loud, "Ha!"

The troll behind the counter looked at my oddly. I pointed to the speaker on the ceiling and asked, "Did you hear that?" "GLOBAL ORDERS"? "Who is going to enforce THAT", I asked?

I was floored!

GLOBAL ORDERS?

It's the oddest message in the way it's delivered, I swear it.

NO, NO! I know what you're thinking, ATS! It was not a mis-understanding of context. THE WAY this message is delivered it's ridiculously GLOBALISTIC.

Go, go now. Go pickup that little box of Hot Tamales candy or those Tums you've been meaning to pick up for a week.

Go listen to it.

This is freaky!

Walgreens celebrates their "World Pharmacy Day" on September 25th .

However , their "Global Orders" (whatever the hell that is) does not apply in Georgia .

Never shopped at Walgreens and never will after this (I use a homegrown pharmacy)
So , eff em .

I have been trying to avoid going inside pharmacies for anything lately...but this really has me intrigued. I may have to step in just to listen!

You know, it's just on GD display now, isn't it? I mean, they're not even hiding it. I remember a few years back there'd be people watching movies in slow-mo trying to find where and how the NWO slipped in some hidden little message, a clock in the background read 9:11, things like that. Now their just like, please take a moment for your lord and savior, the antichrist, and again, please come back to Disney World! Haha...you can't make the s### up anymore...

I have begun to see signs in stores again, they are just talking to make sure to try to social distance. Some stores do require masks too, like places where old people and sick people frequent. That is not a bad thing. Better than the stupid mandates they had for a while. If a store has a sign saying you need to wear a mask, it is their store and I will follow the rule they set. Maybe they have some workers that are very susceptible or they cater to old people like the place my wife goes to get yarn.

Some places say they recommend that people who are sick wear masks, I can understand that too. None of the stores we go to mandate vaccine cards or mention that people that are unvaccinated need to wear masks. If I see a mask sign like that I will put on my mask since it is the time of year when I am full of mucous this time of year from seasonal allergies. There is no way others can tell if I have seasonal allergies or covid, and of course if I eat ice cream mucous is always in my nose and throat....so I have been staying away from that ice cream that I have an allergy to.

Our local sheriff announced very early on that he won't enforce any mandates.

I will DEFINITELY be contributing to his re-election.

Why were you sitting down in Walgreens? Were you not feeling well?

There are 3 Walgreens within 2 miles of my house. You're right. Much nicer than CVS. But Walgreens and CVS do not have some niche items that Rite-Aid carries. (Like BRUT underarm spray Deodorant.)

Odd...Kroger had a similar message today but not sure if it said global orders. It did say vaccinated did not have to wear a mask but unvaccinated did.

I'm in GA so there won't be any global orders or mandates.

I'll go back tomorrow and see if I can record it. Didn't really stroke me until this post popped up. It was kinda faint but I was alone on the beans isle and heard it.

They used to have good sales on pure cane sugar at Walgreens, but that all seemed to stop when the pandemic came around. We make lots of jams for the family so use lots of sugar for that, pure cane tastes better in jam than cane sugar.

You must be a food connoisseur. I had no idea there were two cane sugars. Thanks for the education.

Man... sure glad I live in a free state that voted against mandates. Every sign you see now says "mask recommended" instead of "mask required"

I survived covid, so all this covid sh#t means nothing to me now. I'm immune.
