Considering the only place I've ever heard of this small business is on here and from a few news articles I would request an audit regardless of outcome from a more reputable source that actually has a track record in digital forensics and attribution. Mandiant, Crowdstrike, Unit 42, Kroll, and to a bit lesser degree SecureWorks and Verizon. The only reason I have those two listed at the end is I know some of their forensics has been questioned by the other 4 firms that tend to have higher capabilities in house.

I would still question a validation of any firm, especially given the political leanings of some of the leadership and staff at these firms. To head off the inevitable question about how I might know the political leanings of these firms, I've been involved with several of them over my career.

The fun thing about the investigative business is any information derived or concluded as a result of inquiry from hired forensic analysts is automatically property of the hiring party unless it is explicitly criminal in nature. In other words, nothing gets published if the agency who paid the investigators tells them not to.

As far as i'm aware Cyber Ninjas did mor exist before this audit. They were formed by a #StopTheSteal supporter specifically to audit this election using proprietary forensic techniques that they refuse to divulge.

Because when you actually want to audit the Presidential election for totally non-political reasons you hire a shady, novice, firm.

Unfortunately, the results of any follow up audits would also need to be called into question as Cyber Ninjas did not follow proper chain of custody. So who knows what may have happened to the data and materials that were provided.

Yeah I recall reading that, which is insane. I can't imagine any firm breaking chain of custody when it comes to something this important.

Edit: as someone who has worked for or with some of the firms I listed in my earlier post, chain of custody is a major deal. It is hands down one of the very first things discussed with clients during incident response onboarding either via retainer or a panicked call at 3 am. We always had processes in place that if the client didn't have the capability to ensure chain of custody we could assist them with that or provide additional firms that could as an impartial provider.
