The one she was supposed to order was this one: Lawn Boy: Gary Paulsen.

Nonsense. This issue has been posted on ATS frequently as of late and those are not even all of them. How about the one where a mother is standing in front of the school board holding up one of the books that they keep in school but hand them out to kids in class which are supposed to be given back afterwards. Her kid took one home with her which is how she came to be in possession of it. It described in words and images on how to masturbate, have sex and how to have anal sex and gay sex. In the book itself it was pointed out to be aimed at 10 year old kids but as it turned out these were used in classes as young as 5 years old.

Another one was a father in front of a school board who also came into possession of one of those class books. Same situation his son was 7 and he read out of the book and it had stories in their about kids sucking "C**K" and licking "P***Y"
, he got his mic muted. These are just 2 examples i describe i have seen many more of these vids and some have been posted here on ATS and gotten a lot of attention.

TR...what an amazing gift, even if thwarted by bureaucracy and institutionalization, an amazing gift all the same.

It is a shame we let these bloated and irrelevant institutions stifle individual achievement and contribution, and directly hamper a student's drive to seek knowledge (or even just entertainment) on their own accord. How far we have already fallen!

Went through a lot of this when my girls were in school as well. Fortunately they were able to get their hands on any books they wanted here at home, if we didn't have them we made a trip into town to check the library. And around this time places like Amazon was popping up, did lots of ordering on there around the time they hit High School. Seems that reading is almost a lost art these days, and its a shame...

Doesn't even matter what they read! Fiction, non-fiction, just the act of reading alone is beneficial 😊

It is a crime, in my book, to do what the principal of that school did or more pointedly, the state that mandates specific books to the exclusion of all others

Me personally.... I would have not given any option. Merely charged them all!

It is actually happening. Texas calls it getting Californicated. Liberals are destroying their home states at an alarming rate. When the state is no longer viable they scramble to the nearest state that is doing well, most likely a conservative state. The problem is as soon as they get there they start trying to initiate the same failed policies that destroyed the state they just fled. When their numbers are great enough they invade the local politics and the long slow death spiral begins.

DAMN.

This is exactly why I pulled my son out of the public schools. They don't teach kids a damn thing and half of the learning anymore is virtual which means the large majority of kids aren't learning anything. What an atrocity. I feel bad for this generation of kids if they're in public school and don't have parents teaching them right from wrong and standing up for them in situations like this. They're going to so profoundly ignorant. It's almost like that's the goal of the left at this point.

When was the last time you visited IGN, plenty of idiot supporters of politicians from both sides, how about YT critical drinker film reviews, tim pool , there is an english guy whose name i dont recall who is clearly right leaning, I dont use twitter but I bet i can find plenty of right leaning pages with a simple search (hell carewemust often posts twitter links to people favouring the right), I dont view even my friends pages on FB but again I am certain i could find some, TV channels you have fox, oann, in the UK there is GB News. I will concede Hollywood but all the others have equal amounts of idiots from both sides, its just people like to play the victim.

Do you have a link to something stating the mother was at fau? Perhaps the school ordered the wrong book? From what I gather the book was chosen by the students from a list of 15 books provided by the school.

The book was found in the school. I admit it is possibly a mistake but I have my doubts because this could just as well be something placed there knowing there was a children's book with the same title for plausible deny ability.

I say this because this same school has a history of providing explicit books to the small children and has previously had to remove several books from it's shelves.
