Need a good laugh???

We've all heard the saying "Sticks and Stones may break my bones...", right?

Well, if you need some entertainment and a good laugh, go out on Google and run that through their search engine. The "woke" community has even rewritten this famous saying from the 1800's to reflect their wokeness and 'new paradigm'.

For example...

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can also hurt me.
Stones and sticks break only skin, while words are ghosts that haunt me.
Slant and curved the word-swords fall, it pierces and sticks inside me.
Bats and bricks may ache through bones, but words can mortify me.
Pain from words has left its' scar, on mind and hear that's tender.
Cuts and bruises have not healed, it's words that I remember.

In my travels, I did see some pretty funny ones too (if the one above wasn't comical enough, in a twisted sort of way). One of them was

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but hollowpoints explode on impact!"

and...

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me!"

Is there anything that they don't wish to change? This has just become stupid. I was trying to figure out last night how to change the color of my name, TheMirrorSelf, on my avatar. The colors washed out the name until it was barely legible. So, I went to the search page and typed in some keywords. The first thread that popped up was one that I hadn't seen but read none-the-less. Macy Gray, a singer from quite some time ago that had one hit (though I can't remember what it was I do remember it being a really good song) wants to change the colors of the American flag. Apparently the white stripes are racist...lol. I for one love The White Stripes. Now there's a band with legs...

This was not written by ''the woke community''. It was written by one guy named Rudy. 13 years ago. Since then only about a handful of people have even decided to post a reply to his little poem.

Now, that is kind of crappy, I would be embarrassed to parrot something like that and actually believe it.

Oh, I am sorry, I hurt someone's feeling, It was like hitting them with a baseball bat I suppose. Kids need to be able to not be offended by things people say but evidently now saying your mind about someone is evil. I suppose calling someone who steals a lot a criminal is bad these days or calling a rapist bad names is not allowable, evidently these people have mental issues, we have to talk them out of doing wrong, not punish or judge them...meanwhile they can continue till the police catch them, turning them in to the cops is taboo...it might hurt their feelings if we testify against them.

LOL...yes, I am aware that little 'Rudy' wrote that particular example, but if you read the OP then you also know I suggested you go out to Google and look at the multitude of other similar examples. They're so numerous actually it's hard to even find the original on Google...and yes, "Google", and we know they have an agenda, right?

This topic reminds me of the same HUGE debate back in the late 80’s/early 90s. But back then, it was the Left who claimed ‘Sticks and Stones, etc’ and the Right who claimed that “words have consequences”. Former Secretary of Education Bill Bennet led the Conservatives effort to hold the Left responsible for their rhetoric and hold them accountable for the consequences of bad Liberal indoctrination at universities. Then (as now) we had Liberal Democrat politicians calling Reagan “Hitler” and his supporters fascists or “killers”.

I once thought the problem with the thin-skinned (aka the woke) was that they weren't aware that words can only hurt you if you allow them to. It really is just a simple choice: ignore them or let them affect you.

I don't really believe that anymore. Most of the time now, I think they rather enjoy the fake sympathy and fake outrage they receive in response to their fake hurt feelings.

Social media weakens fragile minds.(even more-so)
