Enforcement of the law has been federally blocked.

To all those that were saying to me on here it would never be blocked or reversed I say, told you so, it has.

Update 12.10.2021

The U.S. Supreme Court rules that Texas's ban on abortion stays as is.

They will not overturn it: www.cnbc.com...

They haven't ruled on the Texas's ban.

They are allowing the opposition proceed with the case dispite not having been impacted by the ban.

They are allowing the ban to remain in place while the case proceeds.

The very fact that scotus voted 8-1 to allow the ban until their final decision next year is outright shocking.

Only soto voted to prevent the ban, and only soto voted to allow biden's separate lawsuit to continue.

Almost nobody expected scotus to even consider the TX case, the battle was over the MUCH less restrictive MS case.

Spin it all you want, today's scotus ruling is nothing short of an absolute catastrophe for democrats.

YES..SHOCKING!

But, there will always be California for those who are short-sighted.

So pointing out the facts of the matter is considered Spin?

Sounds like it is you who are unhappy with the fact that the court has allowed the case to continue dispite the fact that the challengers probably do not having standing.

Which by the way was supposed to be the silver bullet in the Texas law; by allowing private citizens enforce the law Texas lawmakers had hoped they created a situation where lawsuits would die because there would be no one to bring them against.

When you intentionally leave out the most important elements for political reasons, yes, that is a perfect example of 'spin'.

I am not unhappy about ANYTHING in today's ruling, it's waaaay better than ANYONE on my 'side' thought was even possible.

Shocking doesn't begin to describe what just happened.

Calling this a catastrophe for democrats is the MOST polite word I can come up with for today's ruling.

SCOTUS voted 8-soto to allow the TX ban to continue until next year's decision.

AND voted 8-soto that biden's lawsuit to stop the TX law has no merit or standing, so has been permanently thrown out.

Meaning every single justice except soto is seriously considering the constitutionality of early 1st trimester abortion bans.

Nothing even remotely similar to today's scotus ruling this has EVER happened since rvw.

8-soto!!!

Lets Go Soto!

That first cnbc article said today's decision was 8-1, but I just saw another article that said 5-4.

Have you seen anything else contradictory in msm today?

It looks like it was an 8-1 decision to allow the case to move forward with Justice Thomas as the lone dissenter. Gorsuch wrote the lead opinion along with Alito, Kavanaugh, and Barrett. Roberts wrote a concurring but dissenting opinion along with Sotomayor, Breyer, and Kagan stating that the law should not be allowed to be enforced until a decision on the case is made.

In regards to the government's case, it was dismissed 8-1 with Sotomayor as the lone dissenter.

Thank you X!

That makes a little more sense, 8-soto for allowing the current law to continue sounded just unbelievable.

8-soto on biden's lawsuit is still pretty shocking though.

And the fact that 5 justices are seriously considering permanently allowing early 1st trimester abortion bans is downright shocking.

Almost nobody expected ANY justice to vote this way, not even the TX attorneys.

I do have to wonder if this might be the other justices punching back at soto for her shameful behavior from the bench during orals.

That would actually make a little more sense than 5 justices seriously considering such a restrictive abortion ban imo.

Justice Thomas said he wanted to throw out the case all-together.

It means that one of the 5-8 justices who wants to allow the Texas law to remain on the books is of the opinion that the ENTIRE democrat pro abortion case should have been permanently dismissed today.

For several specific reasons, mostly having to do with lack of standing, lack of precedent, and significant departure from the traditional way such cases are brought.

Sound familiar?

The only reason Biden is in office right now is because Lazy or Corrupt judges invented reasons not to look at the evidence presented that Trump won. "Lack of Standing" was an often-repeated reason to avoid doing their job.

Looks like the religious got a win in Texas.

Lack of criminal prosecution may create black market abortion centers.

Republicans always make me laugh when it comes to abortion rights, they really hate women rights in this instances, only republican old women that cannot reproduce will be with this ban and as usual males that love to control women genitalia.

This never been about abortion is always been about controlling women sexual organs.

Is all about control, control and more control, how about castrating males soo they do not impregnate women, after all women do not really need a male to get pregnant this days.

Is not about males is all about control of women.
