Well... this is something new... never before done, except maybe in a film??

Definately reads as if a film script... 'Dark Knight' came to mind when I read the headlines, something the Joker would do...perhaps.

Wonder if this will catch on in other Countries... whilst there's still cash available in the banks of course. (Digital World Coming For everyone and Everything)).

Some footage captured by residents is on the link.

Bank robbers strapped civilian hostages to the outside of their cars as human shields during a huge raid in Brazil that saw at least three people killed. Around 20 robbers armed with machine guns, bombs and drones are thought to have raided three banks in the centre of Araçatuba city, 290 miles from Sao Paulo, starting around midnight. Raiders attacked the local police headquarters and blocked roads into the city using burned-out cars to stop reinforcements from arriving, before kidnapping locals to use as human shields. Video shows how gunmen walked lines of hostages through the streets before strapping them to the roofs and bonnets of their cars as they made their escape - scattering infrared proximity bombs along their route to stop police following. At least three died in the raid including two civilians and one robber, Brazilian media reported, while two people were arrested. Four more were injured, including a 25-year-old cyclist who accidentally detonated one of the proximity bombs while riding past - leaving him with serious leg injuries. The fate of most of the hostages, including those strapped to the vehicles, is unclear

Reads like a mix from GTA V and that series "Money Heist", total irresponsible mayhem but in real life.

I thought the world was turning into Idiocracy, but it seems to be turning into a stupid video game instead.

Areas in Brazil can very quickly become worst than the wild west.

This sounds insane.

I can imagine that the number of disenfranchised and those in poverty contribute a lot to these issues.

yeah, its crazy stuff.

But... I'm thinking some of those tied to bonnets and roofs of cars were in on it? Well, if it were me planning something like this, I would of got some people to just pretend they were hostages!

Yeah but no mate, its Brazil.

If they were in on it would they really put themselves in the line of fire?
What if a cop decided to shoot?

Nah, good idea and all as it is, i doubt they were in on it. A follow up article might prove me wrong there, we'll wait and see. Im hoping for more video...

20 robbers with infrared proximity bombs? That sounds like some kind of rogue military operation; it could possibly be cartel, but it seems rather sophisticated, as well as bizarre.

yeah, where would someone get hold of those bombs and equipment?

A weapons storage perhaps?

Brazil is crazy. I've seen some recent videos late at night from there on sites I dare not link here. Haunting images.

Bombs are easy to make. You can probably repurpose an IR sensor to trigger it. There's a glut in the market for those right now, with all the thermal scanners produced for China Virus.

They caught, apparently, at least three of the robbers.

At least some of the hostages were freed, and one talked to the media and said he was not tied to the car, the robbers told him to hold tight onto the car and that they would kill him if her tried to leave.

Apparently, this is a relatively new thing, but this was not the first case, as they have been happening at least since May 2020.

This will be the norm in the USA before long. There is no justice or real cops anymore, mark my words. Well smash and grabs have been accelerating in the USA anyway. Certain persuasions of perps been getting more and more ruthless here in the USA and nothing is literally being done about it. Get used to this, get used to it.
