Rouge affiliated group.

That will is not the reconcile ha that was just to stop future attacks. The reprisal will be much harsher & take more time for intelligence & military movement. Not in Afghanastan, somewhere else. We are not staying there.

It wasn't ISIS, even they don't want that heat, it was ISK, a rouge affiliation who most likely disagrees with the Talibans rise so they formed a domestic terror group.

Whoever it was will feel our fierceness & ableness to set emotions aside to become a better opponent. Just won't be innocent Afghanastananananians. It will be those who funded, cohersed & or grew them.

God Bless our ultra-special Military men and women.

If the remainder of the evacuation occurs without any more attacks, the retaliation against ISIS-K will be seen as a major reason why.

A return to the failed Obama era policies: Drone strikes aren't a substitute for boots on the ground. Obama ignoring glaring issues resulted in the rise of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, not to mention other extremist groups joining the fray. Yet, we are only witnessing the tip of the iceberg for the consequences of Biden handing Afghanistan to any terrorist organisation that wishes to set up shop.

So, to recap. Someone unknown has supposedly given a report to someone unknown who supposedly gave the supposedly “accurate” report of a supposedly launch of a supposedly armed drone which supposedly flew to a supposedly “known” location to supposedly strike at the supposedly “planner” who was supposedly known to be in this supposedly location travelling in a supposedly known vehicle travelling to a supposedly known destination at a supposedly known “exact” time to DEFINITELY make the newsreels to DEFINITELY dupe the general public all is well and you can sleep easy.

Really?

It’s an insult to the brave and dedication the service men and women and all those who supported our troops.

Why can’t I get the tune to “Cotton Eyed Joe” out of my head.

Drone strikes aren't a substitute for boots on the ground.

Since Afghanistan was handed back to the Taliban boots on the ground are no longer a thing so drone strikes is all you got , you wanted the troops out and now you're getting the troops out both Trump and Biden handed Afghanistan back to the Taliban,

What was the refrain when Trump signed the deal , " it's time the Afghans looked after themselves" , well here we are.

Who are you in this case? The deluded policymakers thought cutting off logistical and financial support to the Afghan Army was a smart move? The people who believed that a withdrawal of troops wouldn't result in Afghanistan returning to terrorist haven status?

I don't endorse the withdrawal of coalition forces from Afghanistan. But, equally, I don't think that any good options exist. (The conduct concerning the draw-down of U.S. forces is another topic).

edit on 30-8-2021 by xpert11 because: (no reason given)

Yes.

I don't endorse the withdrawal of coalition forces from Afghanistan.

In that case we are both on the same side of the fence so not you personally , I agree no good options existed once the policy had been set in motion.
