US says drone strike killed IS-K planner

The US military say they have killed the suspected planner of the suicide bomb attacks outside Kabul airport.

In the wake of Thursday's deadly bomb attack outside Kabul airport, the US military says it has carried out a drone strike, killing a planner for the Afghan branch of the Islamic State group.

The suspected member of IS-K, or Islamic State Khorasan Province, was targeted in Nangarhar province.

A Reaper drone, launched from the Middle East, struck the militant while he was in a car with another IS member, killing them both, an official told Reuters news agency.

I'm just wondering how killing the extremists is supposed to be a deterrent when they are willing to kill themselves for their cause? I understand that it prevents the same culprit from planning something again, but it's certainly not a deterrent in my opinion.

Im willing to bet they did attack a vehicle with a drone, killing 2 people.

What im not so sure about is that these 2 have anything to do with ISIS-K.

But who knows.
Maybe the old man got lucky and 2 suspected members just happened to be out going for a drive.

iS-K ? What happens to Al Quada?

Al Quada are still bubbling around but mostly under rocks in Africa , IS-K are an affiliate group to ISIS and as such are far more of a concern than Al Quada as their presence in Afghanistan could signal an intent to try an take that country from the Taliban.
Islamic State are still looking for a state after being kicked out of Iraq and Syria.
