It is being reported that during a Senate briefing with Press that the number of Americans left in Afghanistan was 4100. Then there was a correction that they said that was not the right number but did not provide another. This source doesn't mention the correction, but it was reported on live news earlier. It will be interesting to see what number they use when they finally do.

So....only a couple ways this can go. Either is was the right number and they didn't want it to get out in case less than that number were rescued, or the number was far greater. The only other way this could be a flub is if they either meant 410 or 41000.....both of which would be astounding differences from the "several thousand" narrative they have pushed.

So....should be go with 4100 on this? And could this be why the State Department SoS presser has been so heavily delayed?

This could get really ugly.

Perfect high profile important announcement to screw up and keep the chaos/confusion on target 🤣

Where's the passport data anyway ?

Where's the flight log map data to prove all those flights all-of-a-sudden ??

Seems every official "word" is a screw up 🤣

During one "briefing" I heard some asshole in the Biden administration state that they would evacuate all Americans that wanted to leave Afghanistan.

Meaning that anyone they don't get to, by their standards, wanted to stay there.

Well, Blinken just got done speaking and he said the number is currently 500-1000, more like 500.

I was kind of surprised though, he actually took questions...something our Coward In Chief is unwilling to do.
All of his answers were BS answers, but at least he took questions. The questions weren't softball questions either, one gal lit him up and the rest of the administration pretty good.

ETA - He also seemed to be talking about Kabul only, and not the surrounding region. Further, he said that American citizens and allies would be allowed to leave after the 31 August deadline, but he based this on the taliban honoring their alleged committment (which they already aren't following) to allow people safe passage to the airport...like that's ever gonna' happen.

The trouble with his statement and the numbers is last week they said 15K. He stated they only had gotten 4500 out since then. That leaves a lot more than 500...

What about the Americans and allies in Kandahar?

I had heard just a few days ago that the number could be as high as 50,000. So 41,000 wouldn't be that crazy.

Yeah, somebody asked about that, and his response was the situation is very 'fluid'.

Only problem is, that 'fluid' is...BLOOD!

The part about just in Kabul could be true but what I had heard is that most of the people let in the country are outside Kabul in other cities and areas. Along with those reports I have also heard that much of the travel in the country has been shut down so getting to an airport is a major problem.

There was an interesting interview by Steve Bannon on a CIA guy that is familiar with that area and according to him it is really going to get bad as the Taliban start going door to door and really start searching for people. He cited stories that they search the foreign people out and steal their phones and beat them till they get the passwords. They then rape and torture the people while recording it on the phone and then send it to all the contacts on the phone. I take his stories as being credible but anything else within the mainstream I do not, especially with the news stories being faked about the planes taking off, the people in the planes, and the video of the rush of people in the airports.

I think the one thing that can be factual is very few people actually have an idea of what is going on. Who those people are I do not know but I doubt any within Biden's administration know. The narrative on the situation is going to get much more dire and the pressure on Biden is going to grow. I have my doubts that the situation is as bad as what is being reported but who knows. I'm not there and I am glad I am not.

Blinken just spent 10 minutes in his briefing actually blaming people for not following their directions to get out for months! Said they sent out 45,000 emails and made 20,000 calls and people didn't listen.

One of the reporters called him on it and asked about the embassy staff who weren't even told and then weren't allowed on the helos (landing on the rooftop of the embassy, which Hidin' Biden our Coward In Chief said would never happen).

The denial is just staggering!

4100 could be the death toll... they had to pull that number from somewhere.

I hope it's not, but we have illegitimate clowns running the show.

Blinken was very careful with his words today. Virtually every sentence where he spoke about any sort of evacuation effort ended with the word "Kabul".

One of the reporters asked about people not in Kabul and how difficult it was to get to Kabul, and he waffled all over the place answering that one. Basically he said that the taliban would have to honor their agreement to give them safe passage or else...we and "104 other countries" would issue terse statements and call then bad words.

When questioned on "how" we intended to enforce this (aside from the above) he also said 'with every diplomatic and economic tool available. The word "military" was glaringly missing. Well, we don't have any diplomatic relations with the taliban, and certainly no economic relations, so that means exactly zero.

He also failed to answer if the embassy would remain open, saying only that they were exploring options.

So the bottom line is...if you're not out of there by Aug 31 at midnight, you're majorly SCREWED! And I don't think United Airlines is going to be flying in there offering discount frequent flier fares anytime soon!

Even though the Taliban said we are to not evacuate any more Afghanistan citizens that are us friendly, the secretary of state says we're going to evacuate them anyway, no matter how long it takes, along with the 500 Americans who have been identified as stranded in various parts of the country.

In "Kabul", not 'various other parts of the country'. Blinken was very, very, careful about not including 'various other parts of the country' in anything he said. He said "Kabul" only!

ETA - The only time he talked about areas outside of Kabul was in response to a question, and this was where his terse statements and bad words response was.

Wow....CNN has already wiped the 4100 number from the story I linked to, like it was never said.

I got a screenshot though.....

The numbers don't add up in the slightestl, reports in UK press earkier this week said US Diplomatjc staff were setting fire to visas etc...in desperate attempts to stop the Taliban getting hold of the info so unsure how they arrive at a true number.

Blinken claims up to 1,500 Americans in the country but the Pentagon claim at least 10,000 are inside the airport waiting to depart and there's a few thousand dotted around the major cities in Afghanisstan outside Kabul who have no way of getting to Kabul airport due to Taliban and ISIS-K checkpoints.

EDIT: Cheers for the pic above - The revised figure makes no sense, the original figure from the senate aide admitting people are located outside Kabul makes far more sense and fits in with the original 'up to 15,000 US civillians left in Afghanistan' figure reported here in the UK last week.

Yeah....I saved the page out as well. Glad I did, because this is being wiped from the net as we type here. It is no longer on any of the major MSM sites that were reporting it earlier.

None of the numbers add up. This is going to turn out to be a MAJOR international issue. I wonder how many other countries still have people there. It is odd we aren't hearing about any others and numbers except for Americans and Afghanis......I hear about the operations of other nations, but no numbers.
