ETA....our military had a sh*t time trying to train dumbass Afghanis anything....trigger discipline certainly was not something that would just 'click' with them. And it is not just me noticing this. Military lifers are. People with multiple tours over there under their belt are noticing it.

Personally I feel American exceptionalism and our underestimatation of adversaries is exactly why we have a losing track record post WWII.

I got 28 years in with about a years worth of time over there. If you suggest they are being professionally trained then it could be by any number of countries. Also, working with special forces we knew Taliban were mixed in, but not much you can do as it was pretty much impossible to know who is who. But back to my point...they were not CIA trained...no need...that was back in the 80s.

Now with out a doubt some of the Taliban are former Afghan Army .

And Most of the Afghan Army were trained by Army Green Berets , as the specialty of the Green Berets is to drop behind enemy lines and train friendly soldiers to fight the opposition.

and if not Green Berets then probably the 82nd , 101st , 10th mountain , 1ID, 2ID or 3ID the list goes on , but no the CIA have better things to do mate.

LOL You clearly don't know much about our dearly beloved CIA and what all they actually do outside the USA. But go ahead, have faith in them. I suppose they will appreciate it. L O L

You clearly don't know much about the dissemination of orders and operations .

The CIA may have a direct hand in the training of the Afghan Army and other Militia's especially early in the war , but your suggesting these men were trained personally by the CIA .

No I'm afraid not , The CIA has better things to do mate.

Secondly you clearly don't understand what a Taliban is , It simply means a student of GOD. A student of ALLAH in opposition against the Great Evil Americans .

Any Afghani can be a Taliban , All they have to do is take off there Afghan Army Uniform and dawn a robe and presto they are fighting for the Taliban.

So in conclusion with all due respect you don't know what your talking about mate.
