James Webb Space Telescope will glorify bigotry and anti-LGBT+ sentiment

Yep its gone that far , Former NASA administrator James Webb was anti LGBT according to 4 astronomers therefore the telescope bearing his name would glorify bigotry and anti-LGBT sentiment so in the spirit of Woke we must rename it , preferably to a woman's name , the name of Harriet Tubman has been suggested ,former enslaved woman who fought to end slavery in the United States.

The 4 astronomers , 3 women and a man , have started a renaming petition because that's what Woke people do and NASA have appointed their chief historian, Brian Odom working along side a non-agency historian to look into the claim of bigotry before they make a decision on whether or not to rename the telescope.

The four astronomers leading the renaming petition say that when Webb worked for the state department in the high-ranking position of undersecretary from 1949 to 1952, he passed a set of memos discussing what was described as “the problem of homosexuals and sex perverts” to a senator who was leading the persecution. They point to records found in the US National Archives by astronomer Adrian Lucy at Columbia University in New York City. “The records clearly show that Webb planned and participated in meetings during which he handed over homophobic material,” the petition leaders wrote earlier this year in an opinion piece in Scientific American.

Sadly these highly educated astronomers can't grasp the fact that the world was a different place back then and it's folly to judge someone from that world by today's standards .... what hope for science ?

It's worth pointing out that in my research of the aforementioned astronomers I discovered that two of them seem to be a bit on the SJW side.

Well it isn't like James Webb, who died in 1992, designed it or anything. And it's not like it hasn't been renamed before.

In 2002, the Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST) was renamed the James Webb Space Telescope as a tribute to Webb.

I believe, just as with many other "Next Generation X" projects, that name was only a placeholder until a name was decided on.

Some examples:
Next Generation Air Dominance
Next Generation Air Transportation System
Next Generation Bomber

And this naming scheme isn't even limited to Western countries; China is developing their Next Generation Crewed Spacecraft.
