For a single person. Does that make sense to anyone else?
3 days only doesn't make sense neither.
The last lockdown was 3 days, and that worked. I suppose you go with what you know.
But this will never end, there will always be a case, from now and forever more. I dunno man.
So you just give up?
So much for 'true grit'.

Sounds super smart, god how proud i am of us hu-mans.
It's killing people all around us. It isn't a cold.
Are you saying the "common cold" does not , or has ever , been the cause of death for people ?

We have had hundreds of days with no community cases of COVID-19 because we did the lockdowns right. We can do it again and again. Are you suggesting that we should just not even try?
LOL
I honestly don't know what to think. Perpetually shutting down over a case, seems unsustainable in the long run.
Why? Do you keep breathing again, and again, and again?
Some things are necessary if you are going to stay healthy.
I think it would be more like holding your breath. You can for a while, but to long and you die. Same with businesses, three days may not be long, but months like the first lock down can indeed bankrupt them. It's all a matter of measure.

chr0 it's not giving up mate.
It's understanding that doing the same thing in this case lock downs over and over again is not an option. Its not fiscally possible even you can see that mate .
I mean the " Vaccine " is out there and even still Governments are running for the hills at the first sign of Covid-19, and Lock downs cannot be maintained simple as that.
So the cold hard truth is , Covid-19 is here to stay and people are going to die every time it makes a pass .
The World must keep spinning .

Some things are necessary if you are going to stay healthy.
And some things are unhealthy for future generations .
Isolation is one .
You are acting like this is some permanent and continuous thing.

If you don’t see that they are trying to make it a permanent and continuous thing, I don’t know what to tell you because that’s what they are doing.
Keep your head in the sand though.

It's an infectious disease, like all the other ones we have had all throughout human history. There's no 'they' doing it, and no one 'making' anything (except doom-porn).
Head is not in sand.

A half a million people in the US, I'd say either this virus is weak or our healthcare system has improved dramatically. I'm thinking a bit of both.
It's not as bad as the media makes it out to be, yes it has killed people just like a majority of new viruses. It will begin to lose even that much as people are infected and recover, just like the flu of 1918 and modern common cold viruses. I'm willing to wager that some of those common cold viruses that give no more than a runny nose were absolutely lethal to some of our ancestors.
This is just the next round of a new virus, unfortunately the governments of the world are taking advantage. It's hard not to see the insane measures they're going with, if you don't think they're insane that might say something.

Is NZ a totally socialist nation where the Government pays you and owns all your stuff, or do you folks have to work for your food and junk?
Of course not, we are as Capitalist as the UK or Western Europe. But we also don't think that some deaths in place of saving a few dollars is a fair exchange.
But only 20%, that's weaksauce. You do know that we have had vaccines for months now right? Are you people all anti vax, or is it the government holding out on you?
Nah, yeah, nah.
At the time, since we had zero cases of COVID-19 in the community for more than a year, there didn't seem to be any urgency to get everyone vaccinated. And we were being cautious, only using the most effective vaccine and ensuring that people don't get missed out in the rush.
Oh, and vaccination here is entirely voluntary. No lotteries or inducements, no mandates - actual real freedom of choice, not like some of them 'other' countries.

Delta is killing younger and fitter people. In the news just yesterday was a young family in the US with a baby that is now an orphan because both its parents died from COVID-19.

No people are not dying around us, especially not if an as of yet unisolated virus.
I know a few people who had it, including myself.
Some had at their worst a ver bad cold, others loss of smell and taste and the rest didn't have anything at all.
That's the reality.
People in hospital are those that unfortunately would end up there during any winter season. It's called life.
Those people of course should take extra care, nobody else needs to though. Not necessary at all.
What's it like to be a frightened rabbit without any actual knowledge about the things you are so scared about?
You too could be free if you chose to get out of the cave of scary shadows and learn the truth.
