¡READ THIS!

I'm putting together a compilation of teachings on the hard subjects. Things like what is sin and how does the trinity make sense. Things like that.

Please comment any biblical topics which you would like to know more about, or need clarification on.

If you don't believe, this is not a debate thread but feel free to mention anything from the bible that you are not at lest academically comprehending.

I understand we're not to be vindictive or judgmental
but I really want to see certain people held accountable for what they're doing / have done
I like to think its a desire for justice but fear it might just be 'GET'EM hahaha!'

there are verses in the Psalms that express a desire to see the wicked brought down, so there's that

I think I have my own answer on the old free-will/election controversy, but it does come into the general category of difficult issues.

P.S. Historically and logically, the question of the Trinity follows on from acceptance of the Incarnation, so I always maintain that there is no point in discussing the Trinity except from the shared stand-point of belief in the Incarnation.

I have threads on the nature of sin.

Not be vindictive or judgmental, yet we have this……

she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house.

Isn’t that being judgemental of her……..??

Asking for a female friend……

I have a thread which covers this aspect of the OT laws- God's law; Your daughters
Two points need to be considered. One is historical relativism. All this comes from a different historical culture.
The other is that not every detail in the Old Testament law comes from God. It was a joint project, in effect, between God's intentions and human preferences, and all the flaws come from the human contribution.

I'm unclear on there being a "Satan" as a stand alone character/creation ... and how could this adversary be an adversary?

If G (the absolute, ultimate set of everything) is everything there is, how can there be any separate creation, free will, angels (fallen or no), world, people, sin?

G is all... so that leaves us as what? Phantasmal aberrations in the great thought? Are we and our perceived universe a crazy notion that spun out of control and took on a schizoid life in the one mind?

This possibly fictitious mind wants to know.

Yeah, the Trinity. When one prays & talks to God---who does one address? Serious question.

No, there's no such text, but it's obvious enough from the character of the writings.
Here is where I discussed the issue in the context of the laws; God's Law; Your patient teacher (Index thread)

It doesn't say that God is all. It says that he created all...including free will

THE FEAR OF GOD!

On Prayer:

Addressed to the Father
in the Name of Jesus
The spirit of man communicates with the Spirit of God directly, like a true translator.

There are numerous texts (at least 4 that I can think of right off the top of my head) which I could cite.

The beauty of the system is that it is effective for strict Monotheists, Trinitarians, as well as Tritheists.

The Lord’s Prayer answers this question, we address God and we finish the prayer “in Jesus name”

God is love, love is justice as we know God is just
We are called as Christians to desire justice but leave it in God’s hands
As for other Christians and their issues, Christians are allowed to be discerning with believers

I don't know if this is quite what you're looking for, but I've always been very curious about the origin of God. The Bible states that in the beginning there was God, but I've never been able to get my head around the 'but what about BEFORE that' sort of mentality.
