I know there is a lot of info on the web and we are for the most part free to share it/ use it, link to it.

What bothers me is that there have been a couple of times where it has been so blatant.
One time an exact phrase I used was copied, it was something very out there.

Today I came across this little FB video, and thought, wow that looks VERY familar! Sure enough!
I made this post on Cynocephali Dog men on Dec 2019
www.abovetopsecret.com...

This video was made October 2020
www.facebook.com...

They are literally using all the points that I referred to in my posts! Mastiff faces check, Marco Polo, check, yes even the St. Christopher ones.

I wouldn't care if they actually added something new or did extra research. It's like some of these people are taking our posts, making them into videos and claiming the content as original.. losers!

JAGStorm, I truly enjoy and learn much reading your posts and insights. I understand that you should be credited but mostly I believe that more people need to be informed. Not everyone knows this site exists!

Comment on those posts/videos with a link to your posts if you so desire.

Maybe you post for the cause, not the applause (though it is sweet to be acknowledged by your peers).

Or just rescind the annoyance and take solace in the fact that, “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.”

(Yeah, but it’s still your research and thoughts.)

Either way, keep your posts as informative and witty as usual! We appreciate you!!

Not looking for credit as this is an anonymous site

There is a big difference between imitation and outright copying.
The example above wasn't word for word, however I have actually experience that. I'm sure others here have too.
I am a little annoyed, people are lazy, content creators should be creating not outright copying.

I made a thread a couple of years back about the skinwalker ranch.
A couple of weeks later I saw a paranormal website with a skinwalker ranch discussion.
Lo and behold, someone had cut and pasted segments of my thread, and claimed it as their own.
What a lazy ass!

where else would they get it from.....?? Most other sites are like the desert with info and conversation lol I had to go to yandex to search for alternative ufo forums, conspiracy forums etc just to see what is actually out there....just go take a look, most have barely a post per day.....no wonder your posts are getting jacked from ATS....there is literally nowhere else to go for it lol

I agree 100%. I wasn’t condoning theft of content just suggesting that the copiers were most definitely impressed with your creativity and as you stated, they can’t properly credit YOU.

My kids don’t appreciate when teachers copy and paste assignments from websites either as they claim the only thing they learn is how to copy and paste the answers too!

Lack of creativity, critical thinking and the art of communicating.

I was a dumb 15 year old in 1973, but with $400 bucks in a brothel I would have screwed my self to death. Never discount an enterprising kid with a fist full of green backs.

You are right about content. I see lines from ATS popping up on Facebook all the time.

This has been happening here for many years. Skeptic Overlord used to go after them for not crediting original content from ATS, but there's only so much that could be done. It was too prolific.

Slayer and others have had whole OP's plagiarized verbatim.

There is a whole thing based around taking things posted on the internet and making videos about them. It's mainly centered around hot topic sub-Reddits, but pretty much anything is a target. Youtube is full of people who literally sit there and read Reddit threads and some of the replies to that thread. That is the entirety of the video. It's lazy as hell, but it gets them clicks/ad revenue.

I remember that! I also remember him having threads with like 300 flags.

There are streamers who's content is other streamers whose content is other streamers who have no real content. It's all about that e-begging now.

In theory they could read whole ATS threads on video, comment on the topics, crap on the users, and there's little that can be done legally.

I believe it. I do believe it's ok to read something, like it and expand on it, but what these people are doing isn't ok.
Where has original thought gone? Or at the very LEAST mix it up a bit!

Sorry bro. Hate to tell ya that pretty much all this site (ats) does is take content from other sites. Its literally the point to take other peoples content and link it here, then we bicker about it. Now we are bickering about another site stealing our stolen content. Maybe the exception would be the help forums and a few particular threads.

I read certain ATS threads for inspiration for my own projects. I always give screen credit on the final edit.

Not true. The rule here is we give credit to any content that isn't our own. That's why we put links in the OP or a post.

And JAGStorm is not a bro.

I've seen posts like this before, not from you but others. And understandably so. But I think there is a hidden hand, some money to be made or some public direction to shift when it comes paranormal, conspiracy, cryptid topics. I don't really have any supporting evidence.
My personal experience has to do with here and the slew of podcasts that cover those topics I listen to. It does seem that I will hear a certain topic and or author make the rounds on them. It does seem to expand to t.v. and social media as well. But I am not a watcher or user of them. With authors it seems more to so with flogging a new book. The topics are what strikes me as ood(ish) aside from a couple shows, always seem to be the same angle one way or the other. The other one always seems to be the classic big news around the corner....if anyone wants to help give this theory legs help a brother out.
Sorry to hijack. Just your post caused a bit of a light bulb for me.
