GARCIA-NAVARRO: Can you just give me a sort of percentage? Do we know sort of what percentage of people have become reinfected?
ADALJA: It's likely less than 1%, depending upon the numbers that you look at. It's not a very common thing - at least - and it will get higher as we get further out. But right now, it's probably less than 1%.
But usually, when you have one of these reinfections, it's not something that is very severe, because the immunity that you do have, protects you from serious illness, hospitalization and death.

It will never end because it's not a vaccine. They can't isolate the virus. All we have ever seen are cartoon images of a virus which is not the actual virus. I know this is depressing but we are stuck with it for a long time. It will weaken to the point of the annual flu but we are absolutely stuck with it.
Until they figure out how to isolate it we are perpetually screwed.

That's why I said Covid-19 will transition into another "endemic" threat, like the Flu, Cold, Pneumonia, etc..
Even after the H1N1-Swine epidemic was declared "defeated" by the Obama administration, the virus continued infecting and killing. Approximately 63,000 Americans have died since H1N1 was labeled as "defeated".

GARCIA-NAVARRO: OK, here is the latest science. Research indicates that the new delta variant is much more infectious and can break through to some vaccinated people. We should stress it is still rare.
Sera from convalescent patients collected up to 12 months post symptoms were 4 fold less potent against variant Delta, relative to variant Alpha (B.1.1.7). Sera from individuals having received one dose of Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccines barely inhibited variant Delta. Administration of two doses generated a neutralizing response in 95% of individuals, with titers 3 to 5 fold lower against Delta than Alpha. Thus, variant Delta spread is associated with an escape to antibodies targeting non-RBD and RBD Spike epitopes.

Vaccination and past covid infection both can result in infection with the Delta variant.
From your source which you apparently trust.

So both previous infection and vaccination yield rare breakthrough infections per your source.

You can't put COVID-19 and Flu in the same bag because COVID-19 is a bioweapon, politically manipulated, and with unprecedented capacity of mutation.
So don't expect from COVID-19 to follow that pattern.
I believe the virus crisis is not just a pandemic. It's more like a holy war and inquisition combined.
It will end with the rising of the first generations from infected/vaccinated parents.
We won't be here.
