A Russian athlete at the world Olympics 2021 at Tokyo Won a Gold Medal. American athlete Whines about it.

An Russian athlete at the world Olympics 2021 at Tokyo Won a Gold Medal at some sporting event this week and its not enough that Russia was banned from having their flag and symbolism.

An American athlete whined and complained that the Russian athlete that who won the gold medal problary cheated. So they had a press conference to confirm the allegations.

Can you imagine the outcry if they ever investigate whatever or not the majority of American athletes are on drugs? one athlete was banned for Marijuana but not enough to warden the investigations.

They banned Russia from the Olympics problary for Political reasons nothing more then that.
Athletics-Russia is lucky to have 10 athletes in Tokyo, says Coe

the country should be grateful they have anyone here at all given their long history of "obfuscation".

Not much of a sanction if the country is banned but the athletes still compete ,is it.

They should just hold a Russia-themed Olympics with events that only they could win, like female field-ploughing, excessive vodka consumption, loud talking, tacky dressing, isotope poisoning and hacking (not the kind with an axe).

It is a very significant sanction and a very oppressive one.

OMG!! An American athlete smoked marijuana?
I'm horrified by such a thing.
How many life-sentences would be appropriate for such an atrocity?

Personally, if I was an Olympic athlete (in any sport), I would prefer it if all of my opponents were stoned.

The Olympic Committee doesn't give Americans any special treatment.
The same anti-doping rules apply to all Countries.

No. Russia are banned because they have a problem with (performance) drug abuse and have failed to do anything about it, except try to cover it up.

That would be epic! Instead of a Gold medal the winner could be awarded Robert Kraft's super bowl XXXIX ring comrade Putin stole from him in '05.

Russia has a state sanctioned and funded program to abuse illegal performance enhancing drugs to win. They were supposed to be suspended in 2015 for it, and agreed to hand over lab data instead. The data they handed over was altered in order to cover up their state run doping program.

We aren't talking a Russian athlete doped, we are talking a full program run by Russia to dope and not get caught ... except they got caught. Despite that, Russian athletes are still competing, so really there was no punishment.

Not really its all political and because of Syria. If Syrian Govt forces weren't making advances in Syria they wouldn't care to much what Russia was doing in Olympics.

This was about making even to Russia.

So why arent they going after China? America? problary because America is a big nation. It would be problary embarrassing if an number of western athletes were found to have doping substances.

Actually one aspect of Russian sport which used to be famous (sending female athletes who were really men) should now be politically correct.

China is just better at it. The US is big, but Russia, one of the top performers every year at the Olympics isn't? This has nothing to do with Syria, Russia was caught in 2015 with a state sponsored doping program, lied, covered it up, and did not do a good enough job.

And even so, they're still competing. They're the athletes formerly known as Russian or something, so I'd say the "ban" is merely symbolic and more of a threat not to be so blatant next time.

Exactly, they had state sponsored doping for all their athletes, and yet they are competing still. Wow, harsh.

You probably don't care but I'm gonna say it anyways:
They're currently known as the ROC (Russian Olympic Committee)

To me, it basically seems like the Russian flag & the Russian National Anthem are the only things that actually got banned. That and they'll be in a different column in the record books.
