Scientists have invented the world’s most efficient on-body energy harvester, capable of powering devices from a person’s fingertips.
Engineers at the University of California San Diego discovered that a thin, flexible strip placed on the skin could generate enough electricity from a wearer’s sweat to power wearables and other devices.

the Great Singularity waits for No One
Researchers have discovered a process to charge devices from electricity generated between fingertips.

A bucket of salt water is cheaper than running life support.

We are discussing making a battery here not keeping someone alive. The human in this scientific quackery is only used for a source of sweat. You could pee on it and it would still work.

But it will take over 1000 times the power to run the life support than you get from the sweat. Not going to happen.

Energy powers the energy field that protects our body and cells, taking away that power that binds the skin might make it easier to get cut. Seems to me that those bandaids will just get destroyed if you handle anything. What happens if you wash your hands? Maybe a little common sense should be taught to scientists.
Why not just make a fabric and incorporate it into a shirt to spread the area out, or make gloves.

I'm pretty sure a "holy grail" discovery would be related to immortality and not energy harvesting technology. Sensational headline is sensational.
