A lot of these trucks don't move for months at a time. It's easier to take the crew to the truck than to drive it on and off the range all the time.

That’s true for some fixed or semi fixed stations…..but in this case, perhaps not.

In the pic below, it’s an inconspicuous gated entrance right off highway AZ-80…. No signage postings like government property etc….perhaps it’s meant to be that way to avoid prying eyes and trespassing urges. But if the white truck is for the crew passage…I don’t see how they could leave the Flir system truck unattended, unguarded when the crew leaves. In this case, I’ll assume that both trucks enter and leave together. I don’t see any other support infrastructure to support the Flir truck on its own. Just my theory.

Nevertheless a bird bird bird that’s the word…..

The Aviationist posted these pictures of a Eurofighter Typhoon trailing its Towed Radar Decoy during an unclassified test. It's the same concept and execution as the AN/ALE-50.

That’s awesome to see, I was working on Typhoon when we were testing these and we lost so many over the North Sea, the flutter kept snapping the wire.

One washed up on a beach on IOM I think and the bomb squad were called according to work rumour.

They can leave them unattended because they're in the middle of nowhere. There are very few people that even know they're out there, let alone where they are.

Well….I guess we all know where this unit is at…aye?

This site location has been compromised….but at the same time validates, imo, where the vid was shot and appears to be legitimate.

And how many people are going to see the location? And are anywhere near that location? And have vehicles that can get near that location?

Would a bird not be seen to flap its wings? (I know buzzards and such can glide for hours though).

This looks like a celtic shield almost, round with a central boss mounted on an equal armed cross, mounted on a round shield. There are historic reports of shield like objects flying about too.

Quite interesting, thank you.

I don't think it's a bird, I think Zaph has hit the nail on the head.

It does look like it's flapping its wings. This comparison video was posted on metabunk, a bird flapping its wings on the left, and the "UFO" in the center. The patterns of flapping look similar.

Another suggestion it's a bird is the sinusoidal flight path that birds follow, also referenced in metabunk and the video showing that was posted earlier in this thread:

I can see the sinusoidal flight path and the apparent matching flapping of the wings in the stabilized video posted earlier, did you watch this? If so I don't know why you can't see it.

Well it looks as though it has been confirmed by Mick West.

He was thinking the same as I, that it was a bird.

Mick extracted all the frames from the video, over laid and stabilized them
Here's a link to the final results which clearly shows what resembles a birds flight path.

Here's a screenshot showing the sinusoidal flight path, but you have to watch the video to see the flapping wings. I'm not sure why a towed target would behave so much like a bird.

Maybe i missed it, but does anyone know why any and all footage of supposed UAP's are always on flir? seems like we keep gettings these videos some of which have been around for much longer than these recent ones recording the same imagery in this flir setting.

I believe a south american government released footage like this from well over a decade ago and it again was in this flir style footage..

There are a handful of recent FLIR videos, including three released by the pentagon, and of course border patrol and DHS agents can use heat signatures to identify aircraft and bodies in low light conditions so FLIR has its advantages for them. But I disagree the "supposed UAP's are always on flir". Some are, but not all, for example the "pyramid" shaped UAP (which is just bokeh) is not FLIR.

You might be thinking of the Chile UFO filmed November 11, 2014, though it's not "well over a decade ago", I don't know of any that far back. FLIR is better at making fuzzy blobs out of a planes heat signature of the engine exhaust, therefore making it more difficult to identify an ordinary airplane. All the resources of the Chile government working on that case for two years was unable to identify the UAP, but, some armchair investigator solved it working from his home in days. Some people say that in a degrading fashion as if an armchair investigator can't be right, but he absolutely solved the case, though some television shows are still promoting it as an unsolved case. It was just an ordinary commercial aircraft. The Chile investigators were completely unable to recognize it as such but you can guess why when you look at the dark blobs below which don't look much like a plane to people inexperienced with IR equipment, and I think the Chile pilots were rather inexperienced with the infrared equipment, which apparently was installed only months before the video was made.

Explained: Chilean Navy "UFO" video - Aerodynamic Contrails, Flight IB6830
