I used to train mixed martial arts with a group for some years but quit it because they took it very seriously and someone always got hurt or sent to
the hospital for stitches.
But anyhow we used sticks and rubber machetes and such and i discovered that if you take a good swing starting up-going down, and stop the motion mid
air, and repeat it so this time you actually deliver the hit, it will most likely be successful.
When you stop the motion and "rewind" your arm back to the starting position, your opponent will first raise their arms to block or whatever, but when
you suddenly stop the swing, it causes their arms to relax and they drop a little, then you finish with a quick and powerful hit right in the middle
of their head. All this happens in a 2 second time frame.
You know like how boxers drop their arms too low for a moment when they stop blocking, that small moment is when you it.
