Look for something in Mililani. It is way off the beach, a suburb basically, surrounded by mountains, can't even see the ocean. So not a lot of tourists stay there. Good place to look for a cheaper AirBNB. Just go to their sites on a computer Airbnb or homeaway. It's been a long time since I lived there but might be some hotels there now that would be cheaper as it takes about 30 minutes plus to get downtown.

From my perspective you can have Hawaii. Not particularly fond of the place myself. I've never been to the big island, so that may be different, but been to most of the other island and much longer than 3-4 days on those and I'm ready to get the hell outta' that place!

It's an "island" (or plural), and you definitely know you're on an island after a couple days! Can't stand Oahu, it's like Detroit jammed onto a tiny atoll.

You just have to research the property (try looking for google street view etc), not just the listing photos the owner posts.

You probably wont find any google street views. Hosts ( I am one) dont list property addresses for security reasons.

Well. . . problem solved. My boss just said, "screw it" and put me up in a beachside resort.

The hard part is now I'll actually have to work to justify the expense.
