China have released footage of their Zhurong rover as it trundles the surface of Mars , the video also hows the rover's descent and landing , there is some sound from the rover although not of the quality of NASA's

China's National Space Administration has released footage captured by the country's Mars probe. The videos and photos taken by the camera installed on the Zhurong rover of the Tianwen-1 spacecraft show the lander deploying a parachute before touching down on the surface of Mars and the rover driving away from its landing platform. State broadcaster CCTV said Zhurong had been working on the red planet for 42 days and had moved 236 metres so far.

Does China do something more than a copy mission of previous NASA rovers in Mars?

I'm going to stop you there.

*On topic, this is a pretty amazing accomplishment for all of humanity.

What took the video and what moved the thing that took the video? We only see the lander and the rover here. I want to see a video of a remote camera that can be left in place to make the video of the rover moving then be picked up by the rover for later use. The rover can take a video of the remote camera as it looks toward it. Where is that video?

So far NASA has shown video and images from rovers and landers, not a remote selfie camera. I want proof of the selfie camera.

So was the Great Wall of China

The exact number of people who died during the construction of the Great Wall of China is unknown; however, it is estimated that up to 1,000,000 people lost their lives. Over 2000 years ago, Emperor Qin commanded the original construction of the Great Wall of China.

I agree, this mystery video system makes it seem like the mission was a failure, but the Chinese are trying to cover that up by using Earth side videos. I wonder if anyone can tract down the Earth side location these videos were taken at.

The Gobi desert might be a good place to start.

Not a lot of information on the CCP Space Agency's website, not saying it didn't happen. However, what they are releasing isn't exactly earth-shattering and is extremely limited. If they wanted to hide a failure this is how they would likely present it.

every inch we pull our self's off this planet should he meet with cheers and the proof of the togetherness space can bring us.

its sappy to say but space might be the thing that gets us past any great filters still out there.

Pretty sure CNSA is kicking itself that it didn't meet your criteria for determining how well it's doing.

The rover dropped a camera - part of the OP video sequence shows the rover driving away after it has dropped the camera. The camera took a series of still photos that have been combined into a video. The rover has already moved quite some distance from it's landing craft, as can be seen in images posted here

There are also plenty of people tracking the probe from Earth:

and it has been seen from orbit:

Hi there. I am a new member of this forum and I am happy to join). I want to share some pieces of information about the Chinese space exploration campaign. "BEIJING, June 24 (Reuters) - China aims to send its first crewed mission to Mars in 2033, with regular follow-up flights to follow, under a long-term plan to build a permanently inhabited base on the Red Planet and extract its resources.

That's a bad translation. 2033 is one of the windows best for a mission, not that China has a mission planned. It allows, iirc, a free return.

A picture taken of the blast from the Chinese Mars Lander:
