ETA - Ya' know, your post kind of pisses me off. Lemme' tell you a story... Twenty years ago the price of beef was $1/lb on the hoof. Today, the price of beef is still $1/lb on the hoof...on a good day. BUT, the cost of feed, equipment, fuel, maintenance and everything else has gone up 150% in that same twenty year span. Why? Because of ever increasing taxes, state driven regulatory requirements, BS bureaucracy and other "social programs" for people who do absolutely nothing for this economy. Twenty years ago you could buy a steak in the grocery store for $4/lb, and now that same steak will cost you nearly 4x that much! Don't even think for one second that we're getting that money, because we're not! And it gets worse by the day. And then people wonder why all the people who bust their asses day and night to do all these things are leaving. Well, now you know. So, you can call me a "whiner" all you like, but like I said, watch out what you wish for, because you just might get it!

Except that it still limits the amounts residents are allowed to collect and limits how they can use the water...but you are correct that the blanket ban is no longer in place.

The point still stands that, even with these updates, it's still a rather asinine thing for a state to control over its private citizenry.

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately there are so many different attitudes among LE, it is hard to gauge where anyone stands in many places. Things are very, political. Almost "clickish" to the point you have groups and the "in crowd" in many departments. Policing by nature is very reactive, you generally can't take action until a crime has been committed (or a warrant has issued) in your jurisdiction

It varies wildly by department, but I will say "their" attacks on us have not gone unnoticed. Right now, you have mumurs, comments under the breath, conversations in private, that type of thing, But when things get worse and individuals are forced to choose a side, it will not be the anti-police left who gets that support and experience. You already have groups of active/former LE/MIL training Citizens on tactics, communications, controlled aggression, that sort of thing

If just a bunch of citizens tried to pull it off. That would put you
guys at odds with them. When all they may be trying to do is save
this country.

Trust me, the good ones know. It is no secret there are parts of this country who want to tear it apart and install a horrible socialist nightmare, and that there are groups of God fearing Patriots prepared to fight to the death to ensure it never happens. They know it all too well. The problem is incrementalism. It is harder to break the status quo "business as usual" until "they" really start acting up, and in a large way.

When crimes start going unsolved, when bodies start piling up at the hands of criminals, you'll be amazed how many officers "bent over to pick up their pen" while said Patriots were taking action. "no sir, I didn't see a thing" Good people - including LEOs - will only tolerate so much wanton lawlessness and subversion of the American Way

And I'm sure there are charges that could be
brought against a large enough number of these jackass politicians
to make a difference and raise a few eyebrows.

The only problem is with charges like treason, it is Constitutionally defined and does not fall under the jurisdiction of state authorities by virtue of being part of the US Code vs. XYZ state code. But oh man do they deserve it and its consequences, if convicted.

Absolutely gutted. Hollowed out. And disheartened. There are no words to adequetly describe the feeling. Knowing full well what "they" are doing, but (for the time being) being mostly powerless to stop it. But things will change. Once enough people have been victimized by "them" things will change. It will then be socially and morally unacceptable *not* to stand up and fight the enemy we all see

Not officially, but I chalk it up to normalcy bias. The desire for everything to be "OK" and to believe it will blow over, or work itself out in the end. Of course it won't, but until enough people see that there will always be a "roguish" element to the needed crackdowns

But things are being done. In my own SHTF group, we have several first responders, active officers including our sitting county Sheriff. Law Enforcement all over this beautiful land is joining up with paramilitary organizations, training Citizens and preparing them to defend this country if/when the time comes

No way, what they are doing is wrong. They are plainly the bad guys (BGs). Just that no one has stopped them yet. Our people have lost their way, given in to luxery and convenience and weakness. Most have gone soft. Training will help wake them up, but only adversity and the drive to overcome that adversity will harden them back up

How does this end if law enforcement doesn't have the
power to enforce the law save the country arrest the

My only thoughts on this are that things will reach a boiling point, and what is left of Civil Law Enforcement will have much better things to do than worry about tracking down armed friendlies. The key is hearts and minds. Must always be seen as the Good Guys, by acting like the Good Guys by BEING the Good Guys. This means no theft, no victimizing Citizens for any reason, treating law enforcement well and cooperating when needed, being fiercly patriotic and jealously guarding the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. We must be evenhanded, fair and objectively right. When they are unreasonable, we must be extra reasonable. When they are illogical, we must be extra logical. When "they" start a fire, we should be there to put it out. When "they" attack an innocent bystander, we must there to pick up the pieces. This will be a stark contrast to the enemies of freedom. And winning that PR battle is just as important as winning any physical combat scenario you could think of

Always remember that LEOs are human beings too. 90%+ are fierce conservative Patriots who are disgusted at the enemies of freedom and what they do. You can bet, if YOU are feeling a certain way..THEY are too!!

That is like soup for the soul when one is looking to read something good
in the midst of all this. I caught an officer in Yuba city couple months
ago. I approached him asking " Can I just speak with you for a few minutes
officer?" And asked basically one question pertaining to what we're
talking about here. And he said at his dept. He couldn't talk politics with
citizens.
I looked at him for a second and said "You're kidding?" And he goes "I know
partner exactly what you thinking and I agree. I just can't say anything
else" And I said " Okay amigo I understand and please be safe". He said,
"Have a good day Randy" I was shocked that they were doing that.
So I fully expected you might say something a long those lines.

Reading this made feel the same way. I just want you to know from my
perspective. I know a lot of people in San Berdo out here in So Cal. That
are just looking for the chance to have you're guys back. And it's enough that
I can estimate an amount. I would guess it's gotta be seven million truckers at
least. Cause I know there are more than eight million trucks on the road. Set to an
average. And there must be a slew of people after that from other trades.

I'm not talking about yahoos that might end up getting in your way. I'm talking
about people who would just need to hear the word. And they would be there.

it really gives me more strength to read your thoughts here. I ride
when I'm not driving. Or poke'n around ATS. And the people I know well

Not sure what will happen, but I suspect folks won't let this kind of thing stand for much longer. I believe you'll see a wholesale return of vigilantism, coupled with ordinary citizens being unable/unwilling to spill the beans on said vigilantes. Not the worst outcome IMO.

Sadly you will see fewer and fewer non-violent crimes being solved, with officers forced to focus on responding to active threats against human life and other major crimes. Shame really, because citizens living under this system will quickly grow tired of being victimized. And I don't blame them one single iota

The problem is these criminal (something I can't write here) have much less to lose, and they tend to shoot back. So get equipped, to everyone, get equipped. Get trained! And make your peace, because this is coming to a town near you, and me and the rest of us very soon. Sooner than any of us would like. Remember how COVID felt...we all thought we'd have more time to prepare. No time like the present!
