Okay I was looking through the local goodwill, I love goodwill, you never know what you will find. Anyways I found this single negative, I took a picture of it with my phone but I cannot identify the building or where, when. I'm just curious, but I'd like to know. Thank you fellow atsers. negative

The one building with the green copper colored roof looks like the one in this pic of NYC near the empire state building

I think that's just the way the negative looks due to the way I'm holding it. But I'm not ruling anything out. I've looked at Sears tower, twin towers, empire state building, all the obvious, but nothing matches. Thanks for your input though I'm open to all suggestions.

Yeah, does kinda. There's that one behind it to the left that's wide, almost looks like 2 different buildings but if you look closely it's just one.

Still going with Egypt because of the water in the negative. As far as I am aware NYC doesn't have a water box the size of their park.

Plus, the idol on the roof is a bird. Add the fact Manhattan doesn't do buildings at a slant by pyramid slanting their buildings. Definitely Egypt.

The structure to the right of the one being built is inspired by that culture. For any main city, that would be a huge waste of space for no view. Not to mention rent prices. Look more at the "unique" articture that will be how you find it's location.

I'm thinking that this is Chicago, perhaps in the 20s - 30s. If I find a photo that establishes that conclusively, I'll post it.

I'm looking through the pictures to which you linked. I definitely see similarities, but the only thing stopping me from conclusively saying it's Egypt, is the overall density of the city. I could be dead wrong, you make some good points, and I'm going to continueto research.

That was my first thought too, Chicago, New York, somewhere very densely populated. If you find anything please share. Im going to have this negative developed, I like the picture.

Definitely New York.

The building with two green 'tips' on the left is the Waldorf-Astoria.

Here's an image of the building

Yeah I see that very distinctive stepped building, but there should be a skyscraper in the general vicinity, as per the picture. It does look a lot alike though.

My first thought was it's a tabletop landscape used by architects.
