That ended 158 years ago on December 6th. June 19th was when it was announced to slaves in Texas.

You're both almost there. Texas refused to acknowledge the emancipation proclamation, and kept slavery. It wasn't until General Gordon Granger showed up with an army to demand that Texas follow Lincoln's order that Texas finally complied and released their slaves. Texas was the last state to have slaves up until that point, and juneteenth was the end of slavery in America.
