A question for the owner/mods

Hi,

Glad someone stepped up to the plate to save ATS, but how come there no longer are ANY ads?

Who then pays for ATS upkeep ?

Or is ATS now a government/LEA-owned honeypot, looking for dreaded "conspiracy theorists" posting grave insults to thin-skinned politicians ?

No way. Heh But there was an announcement that they were turning ads off for a little while while some changes were made.

He could find out who the new owners are!

As for the question at the top of the list...
I've squatted and donated a few years back during a security issue here on ATS. Again the ads were not troubling, only the severe redirects which were. And those advertising agencies overtook ATS, and the owners took great pains to FIT those ads onto the site.

Nothing is free except death.

Edit: some of the advertisements were overlapping the functionality of ATS if that makes sense. No one could edit or hit the star and flag.

The same team that has kept the floors clean and the toilets flushing for quite a few years now. Not for pay since we are volunteers, but out of our love for the forums here at ATS.

Not much will change in fact beyond upgrading the functionality. The idea is to preserve ATS, not to change it.

Not really, just thought the absence of ads was strange, as it indicated someone with really deep pockets, Big Brother (?) , bought the place....

...Although, for a while I was addicted to a whole bunch of those ads selling crap from China...
