I get the gov and military owns tons of land but we are talking about farmland here, used for agriculture.

Gates owns 240-260, 000 acres, total farmland is 900,000,000 acres..do the math.

That doesn’t mean he isn't the biggest single stake holder. Also can you link to those figures? That 900 million acres of arable farmland seems very high.

California, Oregon, and Washington are in a league of their own. I'm sure there's good people there, on both sides of the political coin, but overall, I don't think they're needed. I say let BG have those three states and all they contain.
